I posted three homburg hats this week, just not in this thread. That's not right. So here they are again. Echter Borsalino homburg in grey (Amiata). Bound brim at 6cm and crown 11,5cm at the pinch. Late forties to mid fifties, judging by the label. In superb condition (just needed a good brushing and steaming). Brim binding is in the colour Mula, which seems to be the preferred colour for most grey homburgs by Borsalino. Sold by G. Kramer, Frankfurt am Main.

Second one. Borsalino homburg in grey, nutria felt. Size 7 tag (or 57) and "original house" on the sweatband say that this one was made for the American market. It probably never got there, maybe because of the war. My guess would be late thirties or early forties. Bound brim at 6cm and crown 10,5 cm at the pinch. Colour is Opale, which I have never seen before. It does come close to the Palladio colour of another hat I have. The felt is of very high quality. I cannot compare the nutria to other nutria qualities because I don't have any. There seems to be a certain flexible quality to the felt; it more or less springs back in shape. The liner is nice and clean and it is a superb hat. I think I will do a comparison of the Mula brim bindings to see if they are indeed all the same colour.

J. Heinr. ITA homburg in brown. No idea about the size because there are no labels at all inside the hat. I had to stretch it a little to fit me, so I'm guessing a smallish size 56 or even a 55. Bound brim at 5.7cm and crown 10,5cm at the pinch. No liner, just a crown patch made of paper (ususally made of cloth). The finishing on this hat is a bit sparse, but the felt is very smooth and soft and the ribbon colour and treatment is very nice. According to Steve (mayserwegener) early to mid-sixties.

Resolut homburg in brown. Bound brim at 6cm and crown 10,5cm at the pinch. There was a covering of some sort of the crown patch, but that is gone. The quality is "strand". There was a question on that with the other Resolut hat, because the label wasn't clear. I'm very pleased with this one and I like the curves it has. Late fifties to early sixties I believe.

That is one fine hat. The lines and crown are perfect. Unique brown color too.

Stefan @steur Great Homburg haul ! If you find a 59 with a wider than 2" Brim (hopefully 2 1/2 , I think thats 6.5 cm , or more) remember me . Thanks ! Thats awesome !

Michael and Mike, I'll keep an eye out. Larger sizes are much more rare over here as well, as are other colours than black. The most common brim width for homburg hats is 6cm (which is 2 3/8", more or less). Only three of my homburg hats have a wider brim than that and of them is an American hat (a Knox).
