I've seen it mentioned in other threads, but not sure if it's been recommended here. Boardwalk Empire is a series playing on Amazon Prime and it's got an amazing array of Homburgs shown on oodles of characters.

Borsalino Homburg, my recent fleamarket find, from 1959, made for the German Market!
Great stiff felt in splendid condition.

Yes, started watching it to see what hats were being worn but got hooked on the story too. An awesome combo, hat porn and a good story line. Hats made by Gary White out of Buffalo. He keeps a low profile but then he probably has all the work he can handle. He does have a website.

Posted a teaser of this one earlier in the "what hat are you waiting for..." thread. Took some pictures of it today. Woodrow or J. Woodrow&Sons homburg in grey, size 59. Brim at 6cm and crown 11cm at the pinch. Really wonderful felt. Woodrow was one of many Stockport hatters. The company didn't make it out of the decline in hat sales of the fifties and merged in the mid-fifties with Battersby. Early to mid-fifties for this one I think. This one is lined up to be part of the next hat-exchange Holland-Italy with Daniele.

Very nice. I wish I knew more about the European hat companies.

Gentlemen, thanks. There are a few publications about the English hatting industry (Penny McKnight's Stockport hatting and Michael Nevell's Denton and the archeology of the felt hatting industry) but other than that there is very little indeed. Steve (Mayserwegener) is our richest source of information about German and Austrian hatting and Daniele Tanto and Carouselvic know an awful lot about the Italian hatting industry, but about other countries in Europe there's almost nothing there.
