I think this is where craftsmen snd small businesses get into trouble: honesty. Us as customers are mostly reasonable and understanding when it comes to delays and wait times, but you just need to be upfront and honest about it.
Don’t send emails out stating 8-12 weeks when it’s more like 8-12 months and don’t tell me you’ve started on my order if you haven’t. I literally will understand everything else, but lying is just plain bad business tactics. I know you’re trying to save face, but sometimes you have to bite the bullet and tell the truth so that everyone is aware of the real, true situation.
I would be more pissed off if someone told me they started my jacket and lied to me rather than them telling me they can’t start it for another 6 more months.
