1870 in store bill of sale for 1 hat! I presume from the price a full custom fine silk job as Gough "the Artist Hatter" (listed below) mentions as selling for $7 by "other hatters". Apparently George Latham is one of those. Being "Fashionable" does have its price!

From 1915 (Stetsons Fiftieth Anniversary) Stetson Electrotype book with ads dealers can use and order. Note the color section with the theater slides available.....AND if you used their ads Stetson wanted a copy of the paper where you ran the ad.

THIS one is my favorite with our stalwart reporters in the front lines of the World War.....I suppose they feel safe in their Stetson Stiff Felts (remember America was not in the war for another few years yet).

"Faire des Chapeaux en Espagne" Translation: Making Hats in Spain.....

From a French Coffee Shop.....

They (Spain) can make some nice hats..............I have a couple made for a German company (AdVintage).

THIS ad is from the Scranton Historical SOCIETY (Scranton Truth newspaper) showing them in a different (presumably bigger) location by 1890.

Circa 1870 or so salesman's card. "Buffalo Robes" is very telling...the buffalo were pretty much hunted out by 1875 with less than 100 remaining in 1880.
