Big Ribboned coffee morning!

Saturday evening sipping a hazy beer from Surley. It is one of the remaining summer beers in the outside beer fridge. Delicious drink.

My breakfast beer is an Omni Hazy. A cool morning finds me reaching for a hazy beer. This fruity, hazy beer pairs well with some eggs on top of fried rice with scallions.

A Bent Paddle Cream Ale paired well with some gumbo for lunch. Crisp an floral pilsner on a deck in October - all is good at this moment!

Jack; There is an awful lot of goodness in your pics. Thanks for sharing.

Yesterday evening I shared a Surley Axeman IPA with my wife while walking about on the property.

Morning coffee just after sunrise. I ground some Brazilian Medium roasted coffee beans from our local Dunn Brothers Coffee Shop. The beans were roasted yesterday. The ground beans smelled terrific! Great morning coffee.

This bottle of Don Julio 70 gave up her last drops tonight. It’s been in the house for a while but that’s no indication of how good it is. Much better than I thought it would be. May have to grab another bottle. Paired with some old school black cherry, VS style.

Ready to be Back in Black I unboxed my Gannon Highwayman for the season & headed out for some Fri night Tex Mex with a Dos Equis Lager & a pour of Casamigo Tequila Blanco. Drinking Casamigo Blanco for the first time I got a blend of chocolate & vanilla flavors; no agave or black pepper. So after that first Lager I thought Dos Equis Amber would be a better match and made the switch.

The Casamigo is quite pleasant & might be for the Tequila neophyte who is not sure how he/she feels about the taste of Blue Agave.

Once I got home I was yearning for a bowl of Mac Baren Vanilla Cream Flake pipe tobacco before switching over to some 1921 Tequila Repo also with a strong vanilla desert flavor.

Oh you had to bust out that Highwayman. I mails Mr G yesterday, haven’t heard back yet. When I do hear from him, I sure am going to message you. Have a great weekend.

I'll look forward to hearing from you Alan. If you are considering a Highwayman the only thing I have Michael change for me is to use a 13/16 or 7/8 mid-ribbon instead of the TAR he normally uses.

Morning breakfast beer was a Deschutes Hzy PIA. Nothing like some eggs, toast and bacon with an IPA.

Today I am enjoying a lunch of Seafood pho soup and Duc Tien (Seafood fried rice). If you prepare the bone broth way ahead of time, lunch is quick and easy. I fried the rice on wood coals outside while wearing an Adam Pacesetter (brown w/gilled ribbon treatment). A Surly Delicious Pilsner beer make a great accompaniment.

Yesterday I attended a local Whiskey Fest with some 30 distillers present. Tickets are never cheap when Whisky/Whiskey samples are being given away but I would recommend buying the VIP ticket. That ticket admits you to a separate area from the General Admission area, you have a chance for small group & one on one questions & answers with the distillers, the chance to sample some well aged libations, & sample restaurant prepared appetizers. Being interested in Single Malts & craft distillers I spent my time with 6-7 from this list of attendees:

Makers Mark
Fistful of Bourbon
Jim Beam
Suntory
Glenfiddich
Balvenie
Jeffersons
Rabbit Hole
Bush mills
Stranahans
City Barrel Brewing
Western Son Distillery
City Barrel Brewing
Boulevard
Holladay
Noble Oak
Union Horse Distilling
Wild Turkey
Restless Spirits
Fence Stile
1220 Spirits
Johnnie Walker
Oban
Segram's 7
Talisker
George Dickel
Cedar Ridge
Bulleit Bourbon
Tom's Town
J. Rieger
Blue Note Whiskey

Staying on topic I wore my blue Heather BSHW, pics below from another recent outing.

Wow! The list of whiskey purveyors reads better than my local liquor store. That sounds like a splendid adventure. I look forward to your reflections Jack. A grand opportunity.
