Along the lines of a Guinness, Jameson has a new Irish Whiskey hitting the market which has been finished in barrels from Eight Degrees Brewing, which were previously filled with their Black Ball Irish Stout. Part of the Jameson Crested Irish Whiskey series. Sounds like it could be promising.
Agreed, it does sound promising. I will keep my eyes out for the offering. This weekend I am intending to shop a couple of whiskeys. We shall see what occurs.

Jack, I am evidently not with the program - no Guinness tonight. You mention Green Spot and I am thirsty for some Green Spot. I need to get another bottle.

Our warm weather has me breaking out a Surley Hazy Double IPA to sip this evening. This hazy beer has the taste that is satisfying after a warm day (high nearly 83'f), hard working afternoon evening. I have ordered the breweries triple IPA and some black ale. They should arrive early next week. Coller weather is coming and the beer should be just in time.

Nice one Jack. On my commute home today, I heard Bob Dylan’s ‘theme time’ radio block and he played a song called ‘Ain’t I’m a dog’. It made me go home and want to attempt the dog bone crease again. Well I’ll be dogged, I got it!

Cheers, Dale! It’s worth checking out, not a huge BD fan but his anecdotes and music knowledge is beyond entertaining IMO.

Dylan is host of his own show.
Yep, it’s in my car for another month, got a year free of Sirius Satellite radio when I bought my Jeep. Channel is Deep Tracks and plays a lot of rarely heard gems.

Cool. I suspected as much...kind of like Little Steven. Ronnie Self is a real deal rocker, but he's probably best known for "I'm Sorry" and "Sweet Nothin's"...songs he wrote which were huge hits for Brenda Lee.
It is quite different to listen to Dylan as a DJ. As Ross said you do get interesting bits of historical music industry info but I always wonder why is he doing that? Is it the money? A contractual agreement he has to comply with? He doesn't like doing interviews & is such a private person it does make me wonder.

Literally thought that same darn thing. I guess just the love of music and wanting to share insight? Most often he says a quick sentence of an interaction or convo he’s had with them. I’m glad he did them, I’m trying to hear them all before my free trial is over.

I don't know if it's Capitol Cities who owns everything like the record label he's signed with, the publishing company, & all media (or someone like them) but I wonder if it isn't some contractual clause in his record contract? I do know the books & interviews to promote the books were tied to his record deal. Maybe even the Martin Scorsese films, who knows?

On Monday I had to endure an endoscopy procedure (not pleasant) which resulted in a sample for biopsy. Those who know me might say it didn't bother me, but I've been awaiting the results all wk long. Got the call about 3:30 that all is negative & nothing further is required. And as a surprise bonus I was tested for covid & have not been exposed or asymptomatic. So I'm celebrating this Fri night with a new bottle of Lagavulin 16. So smooth!

Cheers for Jack! Congrats on the negative results. In these circumstances the new bottle evening is emotionally deserved. Cheers sir!

Long day "at the office" and being home my dog and I have been walking around outside. I am sipping a Founders All Day IPA and enjoying the evening. Crazy eerie sky tonight in my neighborhood.

Thank you Ross, & to all. The wait for results can be an emotional experience & one I never expected to experience. So I hope none of you have to experience anything like it seriously, we're not talking skin cancer here. And I'm well on my way to a melancholy mood & getting hammered
Good to hear everything is negative. It is not fun waiting for results. Glad you are going to be around here for a long time. A lot of good whiskey yet to be sampled!

Great news on the clean bill of health @Hurricane Jack !

A lot of good whiskey yet to be sampled!
Thank you both. There hasn't been much cancer in my extended family, but one never knows. So much good whiskey, so little time.

Looking thru this wks beer sheet I see a new Scotch Ale by Innis & Gunn aged in whiskey barrels. I love the Irish Red Ale aged in Elijah Craig casks we can get during the Saint Patrick's season & fall Irish fests. Look forward to picking some up.

Wow, thank goodness that I am a regular. I picked up nearly $80.00 of beer ordered this past week. I wheeled the purchase out towards my car in the parking lot and wham! Another customer backed up and hit my cart and speed off. Broken beer bottles and cans all over the lot.

Jack, no whiskey this pick-up! Thank goodness as the cost per item is much higher. I am intending to shop whiskey Sunday.

I went back inside and asked for the managers assistance in cleaning up the mess. I relayed the situation and the folks duplicated my purchase and put it into the car before the manager and I cleaned up the mess. No questions asked. They rock! I do know they have camera surveillance on the lot and imagine they will identify the customer who sped off. I thanked them and will drop off some my barbecued brisket Sunday as a thank you.

I picked up Guinness, various Surley beers, Founder offerings, a few special IPA's and a couple of Bent Paddle (Duluth, MN brewery black IPA and hazy offerings). My beer refrigerator is certainly better stocked. I have family and extended family coming tonight for a barbecue and movie.

Anywho, I am enjoying a Bent Paddle Pordij (Duluth, MN - https://www.bentpaddlebrewing.com/beer/pordij-series.php) which is a hazy Beer offering. It uses a Lulu fruit. The Lulo Fruit belongs to the nightshade family (tomatoes/eggplant). Interesting fruit to use, but darn if it does not work. The IPA bitterness it tempered by the hazy fruit (kind of citrus flavor) and then yields to a malt flavor. Interesting beer.

The brisket is done and needs to come inside and join the homemade slaw, sourdough bread, pickled cukes/red onions/peppers, baby carrots and dill, and roasted squash/sweet potatoes. I need to put my phone away and get the food ready for guests.

Cheers, Eric -

Wow Eric, I'm certainly glad you weren't cut by all the glass, or worse yet run over by the driver. Glad you are ok. And good on the manager & employees! That kind of service rewards customer loyalty & makes them worthy of more.

Enjoy your guests & the brisket.

Well that sounds like it was more than the adventure you had planned. Glad it worked out with just a few broken bottles.
