Whoever thought of aging stout in whiskey barrels, is a genius! The Beaver grizzly just seems to match the texture and color of the head on this stout.

The Bourbon barrel aged Ales don't have that much head, maybe 3/16" that dissipates pretty quick. Probably because of the 11% ABV. Boulevard Brewing's is aged in Canadian Club casks. Wondering how Eric liked what he bought?Whoever thought of aging stout in whiskey barrels, is a genius! The Beaver grizzly just seems to match the texture and color of the head on this stout.

Boonville, .Ca. has their own dialect called Boontling. Combinations of Gaelic, English, Pomoan, and who knows what. Makes you madder than a can kicky blue tail ( Boontling for rattlesnake).Hey!!! I was born in Boonville...err Indiana but still Bville!
DD, what's the flavor profile like? I haven't drank any Wild Turkey in yrs.Whoever thought of aging stout in whiskey barrels, is a genius! The Beaver grizzly just seems to match the texture and color of the head on this stout.

Very much whiskey flavor, with a Stout smoothness. At 6.9 abv it is very drinkable and holds a head longer. One of the best of this style that I have had.DD, what's the flavor profile like? I haven't drank any Wild Turkey in yrs.
Any vanilla flavor from the Stout would go well with the Wild Turkey but didn't know about chocolate or coffee flavors.Very much whiskey flavor, with a Stout smoothness. At 6.9 abv it is very drinkable and holds a head longer. One of the best of this style that I have had.

That Chili looks great but I would question your choice of what to drink with it. Just me.If it’s beer I’ll drink it. Pretentious, slummy, or in between. The question is does Budweiser qualify as beer?
Here’s my falcon Park with some rich and balanced Brazilian coffee. Photobombed by a couple of oboe reeds and a black bean chili.
And my Limpia creek at a “business lunch” the other day. I forget the beer. It was an unmemorable brown ale.

Eric, I will be envious of your guests later. I used to smoke a feeder pig once or twice a yr. They dress out about 45-50# & are easier to handle & not as messy as a whole hog.Jack; I have not picked up the beers from my buddy. I exchange beers with a few buddies regularly. It allows us to sample many of the plethora of specialty beers out on the market. I suspect I will hook up with him later next week when he is in town on business. I have available for this evening the Founders KBS (https://foundersbrewing.com/our-beer/kbs/). It is a barrel aged oak bourbon barrel stout. A six pack is cooling for me and my dinner guests.
Beverage this morning: "In between" grilling this late morning. I am hungry for some lunch before guests arrive to share the 1/2 slow grilling pig. They arrive at 5:00pm. I have chicken breasts wrapped with bacon, sweet potatoes and beets grilling for my wife and I. A different Gannon beaver felted hat I chose for my lunch preparation chores. A moss green felt with a gill ribbon treatment is perfect for my task. A sour beer, Omni Grilling Double Rasberry IPA (1.5lb. of raspberry per gallon of IPA beer) is my beverage for the chore.
Best, Eric -

Work lunch. Cozying up with a white elm Goliath Russian imperial stout.
