^^Kylek, sounds like you've found a good spot, does this place manufacture its own brand of jeans ? It might be an interesting place to look around. (while you wait)

I still think you should give the jeans a soak first though.

I would certainly make as sure as you can that the legsw have shrunk all they are going to before you shorten them - though personally I'm mystified as to why anyone would not buy their denim long so they can cuff it... ;)

for me there is a sweet spot of 33" to 34" on an inseam that allows me to get a turn-up or two and then still allow me to wear them with out a cuff as well. The Gustins come standard ( at least in my size ) at a 36" inseam which is a bit to long, for my tastes

I have jeans I can cuff and those that are "just right". All depends on the mood and the outfit. My quandary is always double or single roll on the cuff.

I prefer a single- about 1 1/2". And usually my jeans start that way, but after a few washes they shrink up to only being able to flip over the hem :-(
Hopefully the Gustins at 34" will shrink up an inch or so.

Darn, couldn't possibly consider them at this time. But I'm sure they'll turn up again and as it is, I have my eye on some of that 21oz Unbranded denim - they should work out reasonably cheap if I can get them States-side. However, on the Gustin front, I'm glad to see the Okayamas are heading towards cutting now. I like this new step-by-step system.

Me too. Hoping I get the two pairs before year end. I don't see anything until they make bigger shirts/belts, etc. and some extra heavy jeans.
I've come close to those Unbranded 21's. Waiting (hoping) G does 'em before I get too impatient.

Factoring in exchange rate, import tax, handling and post, they'd come in pretty damn cheap if I can track 'em down! :D

LoomState up and going fast.
"Loomstate is an investment. It’s beyond your typical raw denim break-in. Overall we recommend sizing 2 to 3 up compared to your standard Gustin size."
And $132.

I'm in for a pair! I've been wanting an unsanforized from them from the start, I'm pretty psyched about the Loomstate.

Here's my referral code for anyone who needs one. They're good for $5 of your first order these days. https://www.weargustin.com/invite_from/232

Yes, I'm glad it's that price, it stops me even humming and hawing over it. The denim looks great, but at the rate the backers are piling up, it'll be back again and again, so I'm just going to relax. Also, I'll be interested to see what other people's experience with it is like and how those first-washes work out: let the early-adopters blaze that trail!

I finally received my first pair of Gustins today (the Rainbow Neps) and am very pleased. I followed Matt's advice as per the sizing, and it was right on the money. Butte's suggestion above is also correct -- go up one size from what you normally wear.

Sorry for being unclear. I normally take a 32 waist, but after measuring an old and well-fitting pair and then doubling it I was shocked to see that the actual waist was closer to 34. So, taking into account the one inch stretch potential I went with the 33's, thereby going "up", or larger by one inch than I would normally get (which is what I think Butte was saying). I have to say that these denims are a bit roomier in the leg than I expected, But that's probably due to the fact that I've been wearing slim jeans for some time.

Ah, the vanity sizing effect. Have to say, until now, I didn't know denim companies indulged in this, but appears to be the case. Having said that, I've found that Nudie's sizings runs true to fit, which was a bit of a relief. There must be quite a few people out there thinking that they're still the 32" that they were 10 years ago, when in fact they've expanded by 2". It must have come as a bit of a shock!:D

I backed the loomies. Im a perfect size 35 slim so went with a size 38 slim. I will make a cold soak first, and if the are still big i will make a hot soak.

I just received my second Gustin shirt today. I'm a 16 x 33 and ordered the Medium in Gustin. It fits trim, but pretty perfect. I like them. I should get the natural (ivory) jeans next month.

G'day gents....I ordered Japan Classics #64 from these guys in Sept. they were slated for late October early November. I sent them an email a week or so ago when the production update didn't show them at all..I received an email saying alls good they are on sched....I got another production email yesterday, they still aren't showing up on this one either...is anyone else here waiting for these jeans? I just want to make sure they fit, as there are some other jeans they are making that look good, but I've ordered 2 pair already am yet to receive them, so I can't risk ordering any more before I know about the fit...

This sounds pretty much like what happened to me with my Green Wefts. They said start of Sept for me, but it was almost the end of the month before they turned up. So, while it's pretty annoying, I wouldn't worry too much.
