I was an idiot. And it was designed by Avery Lucas, who's more Ralph Lauren than even Ralph Lauren. Probably a $2000 suit, and at that size, certainly custom made. The eBay seller wanted $200 for it, I think.

History of Flechet???

Flechet made hats until the late '60s.

And here is a much more recent Flechet. Note how different the logo is from the one on yours, Tony:

I just scored a Flechet off OFAS for $13, it seems like a nice lid, but it also seems much more modern hat (feel of felt / taper) I'd almost guess '80's. one other thing is that my "French" hat has a "made in America" size tag.

I'm assuming someone bought rights to the name, does anyone have any idea who?

Some of these "european" hats really get around. Italian Borsos made in the US, French Flechets made here. How can you have that international flair when you're wearing a PA made hat?

There might be more in the French hats thread, but I haven't checked it out in a long time.
