Green, Fuzzy and French!

"It's not easy being green..."

Well, it sure is green and it sure is fuzzy! This is now my most "out there" hat, and I'm going to enjoy wearing it!

It's in pretty nice shape, the nap is a little flat here and there and there is one stain on the liner and the sweatband desperately needs some Lexol.

Welcome to the club, I've certainly been in that same situation.

And yeah, I don't know why our paths haven't crossed yet. We'll have to remedy that soon.

I really like this hat also. The ribbon is amazing; I love the stripes on the bow. The felt is very nice, not too fuzzy. I have seen fuzzy! You know, circa 1972!

This is a nice hat in an unusual color. Match it with the same color suit and show up at the QM with it.

Based on everything, my guess is that it's from the later 1930s, or maybe the Occupation. Bet it was expensive in its day!

Based on my extensive knowledge of hats, my guess is that it's from about 1937! lol

I'll bet it was! It does have a 7-3/8 size tag and it says "Made in France" (in English)

The seller is in Oakland. I wonder if an avant-garde San Franciscan was the first owner of this Chapeau.

True, Mojave, but some companies skate on their awards for years afterward. When's the last time Pabst won a Blue Ribbon? lol

lol Actually, the lettering is undeniably Art Deco. It's true that such lettering could be used on hats into the '50s, but I have a very strong hunch that this lid is, er, "old school".
