Okay, Lady Day, I'll 'splain.

You wrote "Spoiled Sport," which I read as a clever take on the the expression "spoilsport." By writing "Spoiled" instead of "Spoil," you cleverly changed the expression's meaning. Instead of conveying that I spoiled your Tiki fun, you implied that I myself am a spoiled fella. I thought this was witty ... and so I tipped my hat to you by tweaking with the expression myself. Hence, "Spoiled Sport" became "Soiled Short." A play on the sound of the words.

And that, as they say, is that. :)

Chile's most famous Tiki bar and restaurant: The BALI-HAI. The theme is Easter Island.

Until recently, the lead singer of THE PLATTERS (yup, the Mercury recording group from the '50's) was singing with the house band there on Tuesday nights. Wow! : http://www.balihai.cl/

...onlookers traditionally cry out, "Tiki tiki ti!" Really.

Interesting. During the Jewish High Holidays, we shout "Tekiah, Teruah, Tekiah, Gedolah" before the shofar is sounded. :)
