Matt, Thank you posting it again. It could have been made by Mayer or Mayser Milz for Valentin Schick. It's common to see the use of English and American branding in the 1950s.

Matt, Is the liner stitched in? The Böhm family gain control of the Wien factory post WWII and in the late 1950s Ebreichsdorfer Filzhutfabrik took control of the brand.

No, the liner is glued in - the the visible threads inside are from the fixation of the hat band.
Thanks for the infos: Ebreichsdorfer took control but they still used the name?

Matt, Yes they took over the brand. I can't remember the details regarding the B.B. Wien factory. B.B. Wien was a large Wool hat and hood producer up to WWII but I am not sure about their felt production post WWII. They produced Fur Felt hats and hoods in Novy Jicin/Neutitschein up to WWII. They also had a factory in Prague that I believe produced Wool hats and hoods. Is this one Fur Felt?

Yes, it is a fur felt hat - but very stiff...
The glued lining together with the logo and the shape
(and I remember remnants of a black sweat!?) told me it's 60's at the earliest....

I think it is post (after 1972) Ebreichsdorfer Filzhutfabrik. The paper label doesn't match anything I have seen. Could be one of the West German distributors acquired the brand.

Matt, S. J. Fraenkel Wien is Ebreichsdorf Filzhutfabrik. S. J. Fraenkel Wien had financial issues and were taken over by a bank (I believe sometime in the 1920s). I can't remember the details but I have them somewhere.

I made a photo album of my March 2017 visit to the Ebreichsdorfer Heimatmuseum . The photos are not in order but there is a section on early S. J. Fraenkel Wien. I started a post on my Website but I never finished it.

Yes - I was impressed at the quality of the lining and sweat. The liner is a beautiful purple that my photos dont do justice - the sweat just needs a little conditioner I think - no doubt its new owner will have it top notch in no time.

Wayne, Yes it's Anton Peschel Neutitschein. I am very sorry about the size because it's a rare find and a real beauty. I think it might be early 1930s possibly a bit older.

By the way a "Superbum" is a Succulent plant from Mexico.

I would have loved to keep it myself, but it's going to a friend who have helped me with a few vintage finds and a fellow collector - so I know it will be going to a good home.

Wayne, Nothing really, just saying it's possible. Style wise it could be from that time period too. If I were making a bet I would say early to mid 1930s.

Borchert Berlin W., 58 cm, Date Stamped 1. Dez. 1951. The Smooth Finish Black Felt easily dry creases and has fine hand. Great Form with mid width Band, Brim Binding plus Wind Cord. In my opinion the Borchert Berlin W. logo is definitely a standout. There is no other company mark but I certain the hat was sourced by Borchert Berlin W.. I have two other Borchert Berlin W. Soft Felts from the same time period and appear to be made by the same source.

Wegener Seal in brown called "brüssel" on the label. Wildleder or suede finish with the bound brim at 6,3cm and the crown at 10cm at the center dent. The hand of the felt is fabulous; the German hatmakers had these suede finishes down to an art. Liner is still stitched in, so an earlier hat. Wegeners tend to run a bit large, so this size 55 actually does fit me (all's well...). I'm a bit on the fence about what to do with the torn plastic liner cover.
