Anton Peschel Hutfabrik (Novy Jicin / Neutitschein), (Florida) Velour, size 58cm, rust brown, probably late 30s, good condition. This one belongs to TonyB. Alan's find (see above) reminded him that he had a similar A.P. Velour.

Rare photo of Mayser's Velour Manual Wet Brushing (1925). You can see (upper right side) them working both hoods and blocked hats (pre and post dying). The process was repeated many times (could take weeks) under hot / steamy conditions.

You can see the steam raising from the table where some of the guys are shirtless. I wonder if any of these Velour tables and brushes are still around? I haven't come across any brushes (not that anyone would know what they are or how to correctly use them).

Hello all, my name is Dan. I won this on ebay a couple or so years ago. I have about $30 in it including a replacement liner. I have no idea of it's value. This is a really rich green color that goes well with a green Filson wool coat. mayserwegener asked me to post it here so here it is:

Notice the gentleman on the far left is dying fur prior to felting. Felt hoods are stacked on a table to the right. There are some blocked hats in the background. During the Velour process sometimes hats had to go back through the dying process. Dying is not mentioned much here but from what I have read it was one of the most (if not the most) important departments.
