Yes. Thank for asking - I'd thought we'd never get round to this topic!! (LOL) I first spotted the "frock coat" of my dreams in February, 1970 when the Beatles' Apple Records released the 'Beatles Again / Hey Jude' LP. On that cover George Harrison wore a frock coat designed and tailored by Tommy Nutter in Savile Row. That back cover photo shows harrison wearing his coat with jeans and red neckerchief. [See attached photo]
I knew I would one day have one. I mocked up a blue sport coat I had at the time but it wasn't really the "frock coat" look I was hoping for. Finally some 35yrs later I met Mark Astbury in Las Vegas, NV while he was promoting his company BeatWear U.K. He makes a beautiful replica of the Harrison frock coat calle the 'Abbey Road Frock Coat', as Ringo eventually wore his with matching trousers on the 'Abbey Road' LP. Here is a photo of me getting sized for my coat in Las Vegas and crossing my own 'Abbey Road'!
