Thank you.I think yours is fine. @PilotJens is deliberately stretching out his cuffs and got the stitches imbedded in the soft steerhide which could be a problem if he goes further. Your leather is super thick, and you aren’t trying to stretch it out, so I wouldn’t be too concerned.
All my Aero’s had that same seam stress. My new one does too. I’ll load some pics when the light comes back.what's the result of this? Do you think the seam will break apart over the time? I am little worried. View attachment 330906 View attachment 330907
Careful with sun drying man, blow standing fan right infront of it in the shade is the fastest and safest option imo, once damp I wear it to dry, and hang it back there again just to make sure no humid spots left in the lining, pocket bags, etc. To avoid mold and smellI hit mine with an atomic bomb. Warm water bath. The steer does seem to stretch when wet. Not dry quite yet. There was considerable color loss. I may finish up with a dye job. Seems like it’ll be days if not a week before it’s fully dry.

Dont you wear it to dry ? I think that gives biggest impact on post washing leather jacket.Pictures of the grain popping through, Stitching of stretched cuffs and working on wet forming the shoulder area. I think some of my older restauration work technics pay off. View attachment 330861 View attachment 330860 View attachment 330859
Oh I just hung it there for the pic. It’s been flat for two days with newspaper stuffed inside to soak up the moisture.Careful with sun drying man, blow standing fan right infront of it in the shade is the fastest and safest option imo, once damp I wear it to dry, and hang it back there again just to make sure no humid spots left in the lining, pocket bags, etc. To avoid mold and smell

Your CR is steer? I think the steer is prone to stretch after a soaking. Wait u til mine is fully dirty and I’ll report. I do not see it returning to its previous shape.
95% dry and 100% better. Will now hold creases, shoulders did in fact loosen and feels better all around. Tomorrow I should be able to condition it. I’m on the fence about dying it now. I suppose I’ll need to see it in a few weeks when the dust has truly settled. The fit shot color seems skewed ( it doesn’t look nearly that red). It’s much more like the photos of it hanging. My CR is steer indeed and I'm curious how yours is going to turn out after this treatment. Maybe it will shrink back after it's fully dried.

Yeah I was able to run a good bit of topcoat off with nail polish remover. The hide under the “russet” top coat is peanut butter brown. Figured if I get close to that all around it should soak in?Not sure about the eco flow .It says it is made for veg tanned tooling leather . I think you would need to sand of the brown to get a remotely unfinished leather . It is a water based dye and not a "paste" like acrylic . I can try some water soluble dye on a sanded til neutral five star russet steer .
Color doesn’t bleed off?I just use the dye and condition afterwards. Never done the deglazing or the satin top-coat.
Nope, some does at first when you wipe it down, but after a couple days and some Pecards you are good. Just apply light coats. I treat it like stain. Foam brush then wipe with rag after a couple minutes.Color doesn’t bleed off?
