Update:

I sat down this weekend just past and bashed the hat. I put in the general shape dry, then used just a little steam to get the pinch as sharp and the crease as deep as I wanted. I was shooting for a Raiders Idol Grab look; not sure it's come out just perfect, but I really like how it looks anyhow, and it is identifiably Indyesque. My sole regret is that I forgot to take photos of the hat before and during the process - d'oh! Oh well! Pictures of the finished article, as promised:

Now I just need the right day / outfit to debut it with.... I have a great brown tweed blazer somewheres, but not the right trousers yet. Time to track down a piar of officer's pinks, maybe?
