Whitefeathers I own the “1930 car coat” and “The Puch”.
Both are really nice and well made jackets.
Try to post some pics soon, the next days I am on business trip and not at home.
Would love to see the PUCH specially! Really tempted by it.

This is an extremely helpful post, and explains why my first "serious" leather jacket purchase way back in '82, that I still own, now looks like it was meant to fit my Dad.
I am wondering if the arm hole sizing follows the same pattern as the p2p, i.e. tighter dimensions when the p2p is tighter, and vice versa?

Got it Aerofan That describes the premiere fit. Is the STF line another way of say premier line? I have not found where Aero talks about STF
Jon,
I might be mistaken but I think STF is a term used by Thurston Brothers to describe some of their Aero offerings, STF Bootlegger for instance. I think this term might actually have pre-dated the development of the Premier line.

I have noticed when I searched STF on aero's website some used jackets for sale all small sizes 38s in STF.
I traded for an STF bootlegger in the TFL classifies recently. The jacket appears new I believe the person I trade with said months old
I thought STF jackets were intended for the Japanese market and that they feature extra slim sleeves. I could be wrong though.

They're not that slim fitting, both my bootleggers have STF sleeves and i just find them "normal":
In my case i think the rest of the pattern is "regular" bootlegger.
My order forms just have "use STF sleeves" on them.

Super tight fit (STF) originally for the Japanese market, pretty sure I’ve read that on some aero ad. I thought it’s not just the sleeves but also the body that gets slimmed down although probably you can have a normal body with tight sleeves and vice versa.

I’m pretty sure STF and premier fit mean the same thing. From memory STF was used exclusively until the premier line was launched now they both seem to be used interchangeably.

My STF Bootlegger size 42 STF is as sung as I could comfortably wear it with a T-shirt. Bootlegger regular size 40 I believe from measurements I could layer under
The STF is cut smaller in the chest, shoulder, waist, hem, and arm width. the sleeve length and back length are not shortened than regular sized. I have no experience with the premier line. I think I remember Aero add saying they are using an upgraded selection on the premier line, explains the name premiere, I suppose to justify an upgrade price tag

I own about 35 Aero jackets and had never ever any fit issues. ( maybe just from my personal perspective ) Most of them I bought via german retailers.
The only thing I changed from the standard pattern are the back and sleeve length.
This feeling “too big and too small at the same time” is something I can’t imagine.

Always my order includes the words “ HH as heavy as possible “.
I enjoy the break in time and really like how beautiful the HH ages.

The size advice from Aero is pretty clear to me.
Normally I am a size 38, as a example the classic Highwayman I size down to 36, the premium highwayman I size up to a size 40.
Both fits perfectly.
Due to the fact I own really more than enough I have one for every single opportunity.
Some fits with just a T- Shirt underneath, some has room for a heavy layering underneath, some are my jackets riding my sidecar rig, some are for a nice evening at a good restaurant.

By the way I own leather jackets from Eastman, Thedi, LW, Les Motocyclettistes, Orgueil, Y2, Finecreek, Himel, SB, Real McCoys, Original WW A2, The Few, Buzz Rickson, Whitefeathers, Mr. Freedom, Addict clothes, Vanson as well.

This said I am not an expert about the right fit but I have really a couple of jackets to compare.
I will never judge about someone’s jacket or the fit ( except someone asked me ) because for me all is a personal feeling and taste.

It would be amazing to see some pictures of your collection.

Of all these jackets that you own, which maker would say fits you the best ... ? If there is such a thing.

I try to make some pics during the next days. It’s not easy at all because some jackets are on a hanger some more like a big bunch...

About the fit is hard to say which one fits me the best. I am a huge Aero fan and I really satisfied with the fit. Les motocyclettistes, Thedi and my Himel Canuck fits indeed very good as well.
Maybe I will try to post every day one jacket and you guys are very welcome to judge which is the best fit.

Thanks to Holly for explaining the various fits of Aero jackets and the subsequent posters who have commented. I am going to post the link to this thread in the Important Links section at the top of this page. I'm sure others will want to find it in the future, and it will be readily available there.
