Just curious if anyone out there uses it regularly. It's not super available in the L.A. basin but is more widespread elsewhere. Also how much hassle was it to get your vehicle modified to use it? I know while its a bit cheaper and doesn't use as much refined petroleum the mileage is like 73% of pure gasoline.

We use ethanol enhanced gasolene (10% ethanol) in the midwest and any modern vehicle will run just fine on it without modification. Are you asking about E85?

E85 is the term for motor fuel blends of 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent gasoline. E85 is an alternative fuel and is intended for use in modern flexible fuel vehicles (FFVs). My understanding is that it is intended for production vehicles equipped to burn E85. I'm not sure if it's possible to convert an existing fuel system to run on E85, but my guess is, if so, it's likely very expensive to do. More info is available at the National Ethanol Vehicle Coalition Web site.

One caution...don't use ethanol blends in your push lawnmowers. The blends burn hotter and will cause the diaphragm in the carbuerator to warp. This I know from experience and a repair bill. :(

I was simply curious to see if anyone actually used the E85 from anywhere. Since they're advertising the vehicles that can use it I wonder since I haven't seen any stations in the L.A. area pumping it, not that I've made an exhaustive search.:)
