Basically 8268 is the roughout version of current 2268 and 9269 is the roughout of 9268.
8268 is the more common one with a white grayish colour. 9269 is more brown tan colour. There are also some changes on the position of the strap and the last.

Just found out that lining will be added to the shaft only so it would have
minimal impact on the sizing.

I’d say at most 1/4” low as average but different makers do seem to have different idea of where it belongs.

The only aesthetic thing I find truly outrageously unacceptable is the buckles. Whilst they looked like roller buckles when I was ordering they were not. They are cheap and nasty stamped rubbish made to look like rollers. I know the bean counters try to cut costs, but saving a few dollars at most on a $1379 (after import) pair of custom boots by using cheap and nasty buckles? I find that truly offensive and, although I’m not normally a believer in violence, I’d happily give said bean counter a good kicking with my boots to knock some damn sense into him.

I also do not like cheap buckles and other hardware on all clothes and shoes.
Does anyone know where to find quality steel or titanium buckles for engineer boots?
I will be very grateful for the hint.

I'd like to replace these cheap buckles with some nice brass ones. I don't know why RW didn't put brass buckles on these boots??

Well, news is the next batch is set to arrive in April next year. Leather lining will be added. Some of my fds are placing orders by the end of this month. Oh, they come in E width only like a lot of the Japanese brands. The price is around USD350.

Good price, puts them right in there with Chippewa and Red Wing, at least per UK pricing, but they have a look that is quite different to the boots I have from either of those. My Chippewas are, from memory, an E, though I find they fit well. Where are these on sale? If I could try a pair in Beijing I'd definitely be well up for it.

Indeed! Not the most sleek or dressy engineer boot, but they are beautifully made, fit perfectly and are completely bombproof. The sort of boot you would actually ride a motorcycle while wearing.

For me, the real selling point of Wesco is the custom option where you can spec so much at a price less than OTR for some. I'd love to have some Wescos, but I feel the need to wait until I can try some on in the US to get an idea of their sizing and whether their patterns will work for me.

I suspect the high enders won't be too worried; no matter how good they are, I can't imagine the folks who are able and willing to spend a grand on a pair of Clinch, say, will suddenly want to save the money and buy these. Where they will, I think, find a market is among those of us who are happy spending the sort of money RedWings or Chippewas command, but would like something like this with the leather sole and a bit of a different shape. Would love to see these available here in the UK, though EBs seem to be very much a niche product these days.

To be clear, what I meant was they quote measurements for their pants. I ordered two pair. Each were 3-4 inches off in the waist.

I've been wearing harness boots with the harnesses removed (plain black square-toed) since I was 17, exclusively (minus a brief break for a couple years). They're just too versatile- I can wear them with my most dressed up and dressed down outfits alike. Plus, they've sort of become my thing at this point.

I really need to get some new ones, as mine are showing their many miles.

It seems Harness boos are not seen as common as engineer boots.

I'm generally around a UK/US 44-48.... varies with the design, and I'm currently losing weight, though I expect to bottom out at a modern 44/ vintage 46, on average. Waist wise, in six months' time when this current diet regime shifts from losing to maintaining, I'll be down to a 38" to 40" waist. I'm currently 'big', though not excessively so for Western sizing! I'll be interested to see how they get on over time. I love a lot of Bronson's design aesthetic.
