Returned a pair of boots to ELMC due to sizing issue. Landed in Heathrow 7 days ago. No update since. Not sure if deliveries are happening i. The UK or if ELMC is open. Hope they don’t get lost in the shuffle. ☹️

Depending on who has the contract with whomever you used at your end to courier them, it can take a bit longer if they've gotten caught up in customs checking. Stuff arriving in the UK from the US has been much more scrutinised in the last decade, despite the collapse of the pound over the last four years.

Major drag. Hope they get it straightened out. I've got some Viberg engineers coming in tomorrow and trying to find info on how to size viberg's has been tough. I just went with the advice I got from Standard and Strange using the Wesco Boss as a reference. Sounds like you got bad advice from Eastman.

I can’t put the blame on them. I had meant to say that i had lofgren in 9.5 and should i order same or size to 8.5. What i said was i have boots in 9.5 us. Should I size down.

My experience with S&S has always been great and I think they provide great fit advice. I’m guessing it will work out for you with the Viberg. Looking forward to review.

For those who has owned Clinch, I’m very curious to know how they “feel”. The engineer boots is such an interesting genre, like the A2, just plain old simple design but each feels so uniquely to its own. So, compared to Red Wing Klondike, could the owner describe, for each brand, where the tight spots are, stiffness of footbed/heel, ease of getting on and off, etc. If no RW to compare to, Wesco would do too. According to Standard and Strange, “it’s unlike any engineer you ever tried.”

Comparison of heel sizes. The RoleClub looks striking for it has a smaller heel, so the front half of the sole could extend further into the arch, whereas these ones have massif heel cap, and the half sole is cut shorter. I prefer the RoleClub look (or, the cowboy boots look)

Clinch usually have thinner outsole, smaller heels etc and therefore have a different feel to normal work boots. IMO MF Road Champ are closer to cowboy boots and Clinch engineer are like chelsea boots. Clinch's narrow shaft also make them feel like a pair of horse-riding boots. The last is quite narrow but not as low as the Red Wing so not as difficult to get into if you have wide/thick feet. Stiffness depends on the leather you choose. The latigo is stiff compared to CXL (which Clinch also offers) but not as stiff as the horsebutt used on early Attractions Lot 268 and the Makers' engineer. Not thick like Wesco's domain but stiffer than domain.

So much variety with Clinch as they are highly customisable.

I have currently a pair in latigo leather which is really thick and stiff on the shaft but less so on the vamp. They also have a pretty thick leather sole but I’ve seen them come with soles in all different heel shapes, forms and thickness. They are fancy engineers but wouldn’t paying the full price they ask.

I am debating about my 1st pair of engineers. I have narrowed it down to Flat Head over at Self Edge or a pair of Lofgrens. Gonna go with cxl. Lots of info exists on the Lofgrens but I cant find any real info on the Flat heads. Sent and email to Kiya, but wanted to ask here as well.

Moto leather is also an option, but only if the last is different than the oxfords. Size 2 for Moto is a bit too tight in the forefoot and squeezes my toes.

Where are you located? Size? Supply could be a bit of an issue.
Im in the US but make it out to Tokyo a few times per year for at least a month or two, plus I have family out that way that can ship me items. Im 9.5 on the brancock. Ill either get a pair from rakuten or self-edge.

I've got a pair of the Flat Heads, they're fantastic. They have a lower heel which is more comfortable to walk in than higher stacks in my experience. What colorway are you looking at?

May I ask why Moto in stead of Motor? Motor is the work boot branch, Moto is sort of modified easy wearing branch. Besides Motor comes in US sizes and gen 1 and 3 are CXL.

Clinch introduced a 20% premium on all individual's Custom order in 2018. They are doing way too many collaboration and would much prefer customers to go buy the stock boots or collaboration.
I usually don't pay more than USD700 for a pair of engineer. The only pair of engineer I own that is over USD700 is the RM Buco but they are shell cordovan and I paid half the Japanese retail price for them. My pair of Clinch costs less than USD500.
