Yeah, he was using my latest quote from RC (as of Saturday, March 14, 2020 which I got in person from Brian the Bootmaker himself). I was just emphasizing why I went with MF instead of the $$$/wait-time from RC. Thank you for the clarification though

Hey all! I've been stalking this forum for a while but never really posted anything so here it goes.

I've been wearing my old Red Wing engineers for about 8 years now and I decided it's time to step up my engineer game.
I found a good deal for these almost unworn Wesco x Iron Heart 1930s engineers and decided to go for them. Yesterday they finally arrived and it's a huge improvement since the RWs. I was so happy with the looks BUT only until I put them on.. Unfortunately they are too big for me. They are not unwearable but the heel slip is significant and it just doesn't feel right.

Soo I know this might be a long shot but if anybody (preferably in Europe) is in a same pickle as me but in the opposite direction and has similar engineers in the same quality/price range/condition as these and would be willing to swap let me know! Otherwise I'll be putting them up for sale soon.

These are size 10 1/2 E.. I would need at least 10 E (maybe 9 1/2 E?) Check the picture with the finger marking my toe position and all the free space in the front (it gets better standing up but that's just the foot sliding more to the front)

Red wing Klondike steel toe factory second, cant see any issue. Nylon blend 60s pants.

Awesome boots, I have a similar IHxWesco in the same leather, it ages incredibly well. I've had luck adjusting pull on boots with insole, might want to give that a try before moving them along. I pulled out the leather insoles they come with and stenciled it onto thicker leather. You can also glue two of those new cutouts together so it's roughout on both sides, gives you a little more traction inside the boot which can make a huge difference when it comes to pull on boots.

Nice! I have the same pair, seconds as well. No issues I could find, and they make awesome beaters. The klondike leather (at least on the steel toed pair I have) is incredibly tough, far tougher than any other engineer I've worn.

i was planning to beat these redwings up as much as i can, starting by wetting them in hot water, but now, i remembered red wing uses a layer of cork, and i'm not sure how tough their glue is for the insole cushion, so, some parts may not withstand water treatment well....I welcome any opinions. Also, the "Steel", i don't think it's actually steel, or it will rust...

It's definitely steel, I'd imagine they take rust resistance into account but I'm not sure its stainless. There are OSHA regs when it comes to footwear protection so the material described (steel, aluminum alloy, composite, etc.) is usually accurate.

Yep, really awesome. I like how the leather looks especially in the sun. Anyways thanks for the tip with the insoles! I'll try that. It's just they feel unnecessarily long

Pedag brand 1/2 insoles have worked the best for me. They are the thinnest insole i have found so they avoid lifting you past the heel cup. For the front, since they are halves, they avoid crowding your toes.

Noticed something today. The red wing 2268, and 9268 (2968?), don’t seem to have stitching on the root of the long strap!?? Unlike other brands that have some kind of box stitching.
