Beautiful boots, the Horsebutt is great. The price of these however is increasing year on year like crazy... Only 2 years ago the Horsebutt were 300 GBP cheaper from P&L.

I agree, they're very expensive. Some of the things we decide to spend money on, yikes.

I will be honest and say:
The details are nice, the soles are cool, different, etc - all things no one sees and will wear out. The stitching is fine, no issues I can tell.

My Lofgren are just as nice and half the price.

Breaking in my new Black Bear Brand x Wesco collaboration. Really love these, although it may take me a few years to get them to look like the ones they show on their website - great stuff and the company are a pleasure to deal with.

Where does the hem of your jeans hit on theses? I was expecting it to sit about on the lower strap.

8.5” cuff straight leg jeans and they still ride up when I sit down then get stuck up there. Every time I stand up, I need to tug my jeans down or they look like the pic below.

I love the boots and the jeans, but I’m starting to think I’ll need flares!

^yep those are bulky and don’t go too well with those slim jeans. I’m not a baggy cut fun myself but I reckon something as the Warehouse lot 800 would match those boots better. Or... get some sleeker engineers! :)

Wider than the straight leg fit? It's hard to find jeans with a hem over that 8.5".

I guess for now I'll just keep doing the "cuff check" tug after I stand up.

With a tug, the cuff is back down sitting on the bottom strap.

Edit: I forgot I had a pair of Ciano Farmers I never liked that much (tagged W32 but feel much bigger) that are a 9” opening:

It is my opinion that we cannot judge a fit by a boot/jean photo alone, I also believe that nothing short of wide straight fit jeans look good with those..maybe a BIGGER cuff

I recently bought a second pair of Real McCoy's Buco Engineer Boots in Horsehide* (used but like new) because it is the most comfortable boot ever for my high instep :)

Very nice mate! Your old Bucos are what made me really want a pair. What are the decorative conches that you have on each pair? Are they glued on? I know Fredy has something similar on his pairs

Thank you! On the old ones it's a silver conches from larry smith I bought from VMC and on the new ones it's one I had in stock... they are stucked in the leather with some clips which are attached on backside of conches... therefore the leather must be pierced, not for everyone ;)

By the way, your clinch boots are looking great, unfortunately nothing for me or better my feet, I have no chance to slip into the boots at all ...

Thanks mate, piercing makes sense, I knew that the leather would be too thick to simply pin them which is why I thought they might be glued.

Thanks, I know what you mean about me the Clinch if you need volume in the foot these don’t work so well. I look forward to them darkening with wear.
