Cheers,

I been stalking this hat since it first showed up on the bay...stalking, mind you; I didn't have the guts to ask. And at the price it went, no dice!

Cloverleaf knot on sweatband, no plastic or oilskin in liner, embroidered label, and interior tag says "K29367, 5064, Block 5-5/8, Sz 7-3/8". Any notions about the age of this one? Nice condition, only needed the usual.

Mid-1940s, unless the sweatband seam is taped, then it's early-'40s. Wonderful Dobbs, Bill!

Stetson Vita-Felt

Seller had several hats that ended today. Luckily I was able to see them in person and wanted a few of them. Ended up with two. This was my number one target. A somewhat dirty looking VitaFelt from the pics. After seeing it I figured it would brush up fairly well and just need a new ribbon. Here it is after brushing. I'll add more pics/detail in the VitaFelt thread.

Beautiful hat. How does vita felt compare to regular felt, say, in Whippets?

This particular hat is thicker felt than the one Whippet I have. I would compare it to my 7X Clear Beaver except more floppy. I'd like it to be a touch stiffer and it would be like that moldable clay felt many love.

No one else seemed interested, so I put in a bid at $1 over the opening bid. It will be on its way to me shortly. There's only the one image and a description of "mint". We'll see what arrives ... ;)

Long story short.
I became friends with Linda who I bought this hat from she gave me free shipping and took 20 dollars off the hat and sold it to me instead of someone else who offered her more for it cause she liked me, it was stollen from me in the mail, post office wouldn't help, then it was found shipped back to Linda all damaged. she cleaned and fixed the hat and I received it and I love it!

Its a vintage Stetson Royal Deluxe
