I have lost every bidding war I've ever been on, on Ebay, but I finally decided there was no way I was letting this one get away. I know this one needs some sewing on the sweatband, but it was too pretty to let get away. I finally won my first ever bidding war for a fedora.

Congrats to Marc and all of his TFL customers - but this post by Blackthorn just makes me smile. I'm glad for you man. You will love a vintage lid like that. :eusa_clap

I saw this languishing and put in a last minute bid and won it for $.25 under my max bid. Stetson Fifteen 3X. I know some of y'all have this one. What can I expect? (Besides an unworn hat in yet another Stetson box.)

Do let us know if that crease comes out. If so, you have a wonderful hat there!

rlk - You snagged some wonderful-looking lids, there. I hope they work for you, but I'll bet there will be many FL's who would be happy to have them if they don't.

Well, I sat down this morning with my coffee and came across this lid within 10 minutes after it had been listed. A Knox Tom n' Jerry with a stitched brim:

It's not in the condition I usually look for -- but I think it's sufficiently rare that I couldn't pass it up. This one will definitely be headed to Optimo for a cleaning so that Graham and company can work their magic.

Cheers,

Have been spending some time on the bay as well.

Loved this Knox! Regrettably it was a couple sizes too small :(

Wound up picking this up from the same seller to kick around in. Much darker and looks great in natural light.

Hoping this would go a bit lower and lost this green Borsalino by a hair.

@ rlk -- I don't normally go for westerns, but that one looks like you made a nice score.

@ La Strada -- Welcome to the Lounge. Those are all sharp lids.

@ Mario -- Wow! (Not that I can squeeze my noggin into a size 7, mind you . . . )

I'd have loved to snag that Whippet, but there is other fish to fry at the moment. As it is, my budget isn't really so well balanced for now...

But it really pained me to see this one go. Love the color, the proportions, the...well, you name it. Love that hat! :(
