GWD,

Gotta show you my rack

Explanation: my bachelor pad is decorated in safari decor, so this little baby will fit right in.

Also, just nabbed THIS on the BAY for my girlfriend. Probably paid too much, but she loves it and it's one BAD hat.

And for the summer days in Hot'Lanta.....I got her THIS PANAMA. Should be awesome.

Last but not least, got THIS ONE for me.......had to see what the vintage Borsa's are all about.

Oh.....if that Dunlap straw doesn't fit you, PLEASE give me a shot at it. :D That's the most kick-a** brown straw I've ever seen.

Best regards.

Hat Doc,

Very nice! The bad thing about the elephant rack is, once you place the hats on the trunks, the elephant is hidden! Beautiful hats! I can't wait to get that Dunlap too!

Did any of you win the Stetson Imperial in 7 7/8 that just ended?

Here it is. I was reluctant to bid because 7 7/8 is slightly too big for me and the sweatband appears to be black, but I can never be sure because I don't really know how to date hats. Even if this is a currently produced model, that's still a heck of a steal, isn't it?

rilco, the winner, is the one who writes up those great auctions, gives you all the information you need as a buyer, and posts many photos.

he'll probably end up turning a profit on that one within a couple of weeks.

I must say, rilico does a very good job of advertising the hats that he has sold. I've got one hat I won from one of his auctions, and I've bid on several others. I definitely like the one I have, and a lot of his hats are in good shape.

There has been a severe drought lately of 7 5/8 and 7 3/4 hats. It's too bad. There was the 7 3/4 LO Cavanagh from a few days ago and this Stetson. I scour eBay listings meticulously, too. I have my own over-the-top search queries and everything. It's too bad.

I have to agree with you Scion. I think he does a great job with his auctions. He tells a little Tale with his description most of the time and his photos are well done.
Best of all, most of his Lids are my size and they're all Vintage. :D

Yes indeed, Rilico is a good seller. I've bought three hats from him.

Though the latest one I got from him accidentally had an old muffin wrapper in the box and the hat was covered in dried muffin crumbs! I sent Rilico a respectful email telling what I found and he graciously appologized. Long story short, it wasn't his muffin in my box but one that snuck in during packaging.

A great seller in my book. His hats are awesome.

Whippet

I've been watching it , but decided not to bid. I just placed a deposit on a Wire Haired Fox Terrier puppy today and need to save some cash for the dog.

Also I have bought three lids from rilico Richard Cole. A 1940s Stratoliner a 1940s Borsalino and a 1930s Manson. All nice lids and he is a pleasure to deal with.

I was watching this Whippet, but it's too small. Thought about it for my girlfriend, but just spent $71 on a Mallory that she loved. Who would've guessed that a Whippet would go for $49? I think GWD paid $123 for his mint Whippet......and it was STILL a good price.

Another prop for Rilico.....bought the Mallory from him. Haven't received it
yet, but it looks GREAT.

Also bought this STRAW KNAPP today.......since GWD won the Dunlap I was bidding on !!!! One of us is going to have to grow some hair so we quit bidding on the same auctions. :p

You guys have any issues with getting questions answered by Rilico?

I sent him a question through Ebay a few days ago and still haven't heard back. I'm interested in one of his auctions, but I'd really like to get a answer first.

He has always been fairly quick to reply, for me, within day or two. If it's been longer than a couple of days, you message may have hit him spam folder. Try sending another message, from a different address if possible, in case the spam filter has gotten you.

For those of you who are interested you may want to do an ebay search for a "Cummins Initial Perforating Machine". Just so you know, I have no financial interest in this auction whatsoever.
