Nice one, Randall.

The seller was embarrassed and gave me an immediate full refund and let me keep the hat too. We all make mistakes, and I can’t complain with how he made it right.

An 8th here, an 8th there, what's a few 8ths between friends!

Sorry Brent. I'm beginning to think CV19 is imparing people's ability to read and write.

A defeat on yet another Adam Executive. Brent’s not the only recent victim. Twice. The seller said this hat was a size 7 1/8. It turned out to be a 6 5/8!!! Just a little off.
When I sent him a pic of the original size tag that was merely folded behind the sweatband and asked the seller for a refund he said he got the size of the hat from the hat box it was in. How many times will sellers do that, right? I’m getting a refund, but MAN! I seem to be a strike out king when trying to find an Adam in the style I’m looking for.

That sure was a good looking Adam too. I know how frustrating it is, but if you keep at it you’ll eventually come out on top.

View attachment 235543 Early 60s wide brim 7 1/8 Knox “Americana” long hair. Very good condition. Could fit slightly small 7 1/4 heads. I’m not a fan of long hairs, but with this color and proportions, I’m tempted to keep it. No moth damage, and combs easily to a high sheen in sun light.
4 3/4 crown at front pinch,
2 3/4 brim and 2” unique ribbon.
Sweatband opening: 7 15/16 x 6 1/4
I might consider trading for a very nice, comparable 40/50s Adam, or Lee in 7 1/4, even other brands if they are exceptional.
I traded one like this with Jim not long ago and we both came out happy.
It’s definitely an eBay victory.

Great find. These longhairs do take some getting used to, but once they grab you, you're hooked. Give it a chance.

Here is one listed as "new with defects". So, technically, anything used in any condition would qualify, eh?

I just bought this mystery hat after resisting temptation for a full 24 hours! I am proud of myself; I'm improving. I even managed to feign disinterest and brought the seller down on the price.
Anyway, it comes in a Mossant box, but the logo isn't Mossant. Pretty sure it's French, because although the logo is an American Eagle holding an American flag, it says "Derniere Crèation Paris"
And who could resist that sweatband? I had never seen one like that one.

even though Ignacio can resize my hats on the cheap, if they're not of historical value, I mean, I always ask for interior measurements.
Here is my stock question:

Measuring the interior perimeter is difficult, and often not precise.
Could you please measure the front-to-back and side-to-side of the hat opening precisely? Just an eighth of an inch makes a difference in the size.

Both the sweatband and the pleated liner look amazing. Good catch, Max

Beautiful. I don’t think it’s in the cards for me, and I’m alright with that. At least I get to appreciate other’s.
Just collect a bunch of vintage hats of smaller sizes, come visit me in Mexico City, take all of them to Ignacio, and voilá!
For 45 bucks he will reblock each one, and conform it to your head while you wait.
