I'd be interested in having both of those along with mine in hand for comparison. Max's looks late 50s, early 60s, Bob's mid-to late 50s. I have an unlined OPS-era Cross Country. It really is tissue thin.

They sound great. Similar to my daughter's Knox Tom 'n Jerry. You can blow a center crease in the crown.

These lightweight hats are fascinating. Amazing how they managed to get them that thin and light and still hold some kind of shape. I have a Borsalino that literally can be blown into shape. Not all that practical though: with just a little wind the thing is all over the place.

My second Rogers Peet MacLachlan.
I don't think the seller knew what he had. 35 dollars BIN? Wow.
In truth, I wouldn't know either if Adrián aka @Miamibruno hadn't taught me about them not too long ago.
Gracias, Adrián!

Yeah. I saw that - good get. If it had more brim I might have pulled the trigger.

Thing is, I already have another one, in a different color, and the felt is amazing, because it's MacLachlan felt.
And I wonder, if this is regular MacLachlan felt, what is 50 or 100 MacLachlan felt like?

Since the brim appears to be rather large (although pics can be deceiving sometimes) I would imagine this will take up extra storage space. Since you'll need said space I'll gladly take another hat off of you in exchange instead. Win-win?
It appears one of the hats in my present load isn't what I had hoped for. You can have that one. Pics tomorrow.

Good get.

Thanks! It truly was a right place at the right time moment. I'm not really into western style hats but I figure I should at least give it an honest try before dismissing completely. My limited knowledge thinks this may be a Champ clone of a Strat or Open Road. Full apologies to those in the know and know the difference between the two. I clearly have some reading to do. I can appreciate them on others, just not sure how it'll look on me. The price was too good to pass up, so that helped. :)

Well if it ends up not to your liking.........and it is a 7 1/2 or so........I have a nice hat friendly home where it could reside, and be petted, and brushed......and...;)
BUT, try very hard......I am really sure it will grow on you!:)

Lol...you’ll be fine. Matter of fact you’ll prob wonder why you hadn’t “seen the light” before. Then, well we all know what then! Lol
