Great one Michael! Skinny ribbon & all. I wonder if Western Ranchman Outfitters eventually became Cheyenne Outfitters? I have a hat I bought in person from Cheyenne Outfitters in the 1980's.

Thanks Bob. Been in there several times but only knew them as Cheyenne Outfitters. There is also an outdoor sportsmans outfitters there but I can't think of the name.
Glad to see you got that one Michael! Congratulations!
I was watching it. Glad you got it!Stetson Nutria Quality ...
I wish I'd seen it. If your friends don't tell you about an auction, complain they didn't win the auction, and then wish you won the auction, what can you do?So who did win this one? 1925 Berteil hat, made by Borsalino. I do hope this hat has been won by a fellow lounger. I just lost this auction and it will take me some time to recover. But what can you do? (bid more, I know!). Let us know and post it in the Borsalino Brotherhood.

If I had told you about it, I would have also have asked you not to bid because... well, it's complicated!I wish I'd seen it. If your friends don't tell you about an auction, complain they didn't win the auction, and then wish you won the auction, what can you do?
Chastise them, I know. [emoji2]

Oh my!! What an amazing hat. The tags really throw me. What vintage is this hat Stefan? I do wish you would have won this one. A Borsa Berteil how unique! So who did win this one? 1925 Berteil hat, made by Borsalino. I do hope this hat has been won by a fellow lounger. What did it go for?If I had told you about it, I would have also have asked you not to bid because... well, it's complicated!
It went for €127, which is $145 or thereabouts. For a hat in that size quite exceptional. What did it go for?

Was it in the US ebay?It went for €127, which is $145 or thereabouts. For a hat in that size quite exceptional.
Yes, it was listed in all the Ebay auctions, but it was listed as a size 55 and the title was in French. Was it in the US ebay?

Thank goodness for that, Alex. Glad, no not glad (still would rather have it for myself); but relieved to see it go to someone who appreciates it and it will fit wonderfully well in your collection. Congrats! A full report is expected of you when it arrives of course*Sheepishly raises hand
Sorry, I was 99% sure I was bidding against you. I lost out on a very similar hat a few years ago and have been kicking myself ever since.
Steve and I both won auctions from a german seller who was a bit of a lunatic. He had an assortment of amazing 20's Borsalinos. But rather than post each hat. He posted pictures of like two of them and said if you won the auction you could choose from a variety of hats. He also only took payments in bank transfers. I decided to walk away at that point, but Steve persevered and scored some amazing hats because of it.
It really looks quite wonderful, Bowen. I have that later Berteil/Borsalino nutria hat, but this one shows that the cooperation between the two was very old indeed. What's also special about it is that it is dated on the inside of the sweatband: 24th of august 1925. The date is more confirmation of the use of the cell-type label by Borsalino with written sizes in that period.Oh my!! What an amazing hat. The tags really throw me. What vintage is this hat Stefan? Missed out on winning a Stetson hat last night cause I was stuck at a stupid Superbowl party. Hat sold for less than 20 dollars. Argh...

I am going to have to try that app then. I can't stand missing out cause of life.eBay app + data package? Not my preferred method but I've bid/won a couple auctions this way when I was away from home.
