Yes, pretty thin topcoat. As if the dye only just barely penetrates the leather. Scratches go right through the dark brown and bring out the natural color of the leather.

BK Liberty is very crispy with lots of memory which paired with the thin top coat leads to accelerated patina. I really like that leather.

That’s what I do anyway, wear a leather jacket for a full A/W season. Last year and probably this one too will be the Himel goatskin Grizzly, the creases on the sleeves are so nice.

I'm up for the challenge. I've had my Schott 613SH for almost a year (purchased it during the Black Friday sale) and haven't seen much break-in despite wearing it fairly often. I want to achieve the amazing Schott HH graining I've read about here.

I'll be spraying it with a water bottle and wearing it daily as much as possible, even if it's not the jacket I wear out and about.

Here's its current state. For some reason, the left sleeve and front panel are showing much more creasing and graining than the right sleeve/panel, even though I'm right handed. A little bit of graining is starting to show on the upper right of the back.

Either the way I sit is mega lopsided, the leather is thinner in the right shoulder than the left (kinda feels like it imo) or I just didn't notice this when I got the jacket. Pretty interesting.

Looking super. How are you achieving such quick results? Simply wearing it? Or something else in addition?

Sorry for the delayed response—been away. I’ve been only wearing it about one to two hours a day. This jacket has been claimed (in Japanese) to age and to grain and to crease quickly. This jacket so far has demonstrated that claim quite nicely. I’m assuming it’s the tanning process?

I live in the tropic , the beginning of day 17 , starts with fresh morning.... i know it will get tropical very soon.

I get smooth buffed sleeve end patina, and some fading
