This is Billy Jack, my Blue Bell Wrangler, deadstock from mid-sixties to early seventies. After a long internet search, I scored it at a thrift shop one block from my house, for a mind-blowing price of five dollars. I felt like a thief when I left that place. The other jacket is a chambray Levi's that allows me to wear a jacket in hot North Carolina summer. Some of my younger co-workers say that "Denim" is my middle name. Damn right.

A Wrangler 111mJ with a modern side pocket for European market or more specifically outside US and Japan. It came out around 4-5 years ago. I remember seeing it on ASOS back then.

Who makes or made this jacket and where is it available?

Lee Trevor. French maker known for high-end, extremely high quality and very pricey reproductions of classical vintage US jackets. They were active during the 80's. They did only a few pieces of many of their styles so you'd have a very hard time finding the jacket you like. Some pop up more often than the others, though. Usually the later, cheaper models that were made in larger amounts but in general, yeah, their stuff is rare. Terry's jacket is a perfect example. It's an early & super rare, black tag model.
You could find 'em real cheap until recently but they seemed to have picked up in value. No wonder though as anyone who's handled one can clearly see they're quality. I had five. Neither worked in size though I remember each as something truly special. Nicest one was a CHP. That thing was made from a belt grade leather.

I own a very nice vintage example of this jacket from the early 1960's, and it's a terrific jacket. On top of that, you can see Steve McQueen wearing one. Marilyn Monroe wearing one. One is worn through the film "Bus Stop" by the lead actor. Chuck Connors wore one throughout the entire run of the TV series "The Rifleman." I also want to say that I think Paul Newman wore one in "Hud," but I'm not certain anymore.

I've owned the late 50's version, the early 60's version and a 1970's version. The quality of the latter two was noticeably better, in my opinion.

Very cool! Some pics and/or specs on your jacket would be great. I suspect that the one referenced above is longer than the original ones, but I like that.
Peace.

My one and only. I usually stay away from Polo these days with the exception of RRL, if the price is right. Just too much branding. Found this Authentic Dungaree model; how many different lines do they have? Branding was subtle enough and the jacket was inexpensive. Picked it up almost two years ago. Denim is fairly heavy with a cotton blanket lining and quilted sleeves. Wasn't crazy about it being pre-distressed but it wasn't overdone. Weighs just under three lbs.
