Old GWG from the 80's are my favourites. I used to be able to buy them all day long at places like Value Village years ago but all of the supply has long dried up. I had an old Lee one that was ok but I prefer their old jeans over their jackets. GWG snap fronts are the one for me and it was a very sad day when mine gave up the ghost.

The only newish jean jacket that fits me is an older Gap 1969 one I bought as it is bit longer in the body. New Levis ones fit like garbage.

That is lovely.

And re your Levi's Sherpa: I've got a Gap cheapo Sherpa that's genuinely too warm to wear in the conditions when you might choose a denim trucker over something more weatherproof.

How versatile do you find yours?

I have a Gap sherpa too that I've been wearing most winters, when it gets too cold for leather and it's really the warmest jacket I have hanging in the wardrobe. The Levi's isn't nearly as warm as the Gap, for some reason. Can't figure out why.

I have yet to find out how well the Iron Heart handles really low temperatures as I've acquired it this summer but for a little while I have had it on, I've no doubts it'll perform just as well as Gap or better.
The kind of fleece it is lined with is actually very similar to shearling. It is much denser and rougher than on either Levi's or Gap or any other sherpa trucker I've seen and it's also more breathable.

Cool jacket. How old do you figure, and how do you date these?

I'm guessing early 80's but I don't have a clue and I don't plan on doing ANY research into it. That's one rabbit hole I'm not falling into! Leather jackets were enough. XD

THe Wrangler jackets are very cool. Interesting too that here in the UK they mostly seem to be much more affordable than the Levis and such.
