I’ll stop when I’m crushed under the terrible weight of 20 million sherpas. I only feel a bit sad about taking the coat off the poor Sherp’s backs. I hope it’s farmed ethically. I believe one sherp can yield two full jackets a year. Can someone confirm?

Going vegan?

Naked and Famous arrived. It’s going back. Far too short, no sleeve lining and it feels cheap. Levi’s is the undisputed king of the Sherpa trucker. At least that’s my feeling until I get my hands on the IH model.
Hey Tony you should check the soon to be released Brave Star Sherpa. I have the 22oz Ironside jacket (unlined) and is crazy good quality for the price and the fit is perfect.
Check it out here: https://bravestarselvage.com/products/the-ironside-sherpa-fleece-12oz-selvage-denim-jacket

And just like that, I ordered one!
For the last few days I’ve been reading this thread chuckling smugly to myself as Tony bounces from Sherpa jacket to Sherpa jacket. I’m immune from this Sherpa jacket craze I told myself...

I had been tempted all afternoon, too.

As mentioned a few posts ago, here are some fit pics. Apologies for grainy qualities in these pics—they were taken early in the morning in very low light, but I think they show the fit of each jacket:

— Taylor Stitch Long Haul Trucker, 13.75 oz.
— Lee 101J 1946 Rider Japanese, 13.5 oz.
— Iron Heart 101J 1946 Rider, 18 oz.

The Lee Rider is short and I knew that going in, but for the price, it will make a good beater for less-cool days. As for the others, I love them.

And me, for the last week or so I’ve been looking at Levi’s sherpas and remembering how years ago I always wanted one but never got around to buying one.

Very nice collection Powerband!
I see that like me you are a big fan of the 101J style. I own the same IH 101J as you but my others are all Storm Rider style, one RMC, one Lee Japan, and one Ciano Farmer.

Ordered. LOL. Sorry leather jackets. I’m off the reservation. Again.

Do it man. They are really great and for the low impact on your wallet they are almost impossible to beat. Just a fun jacket to wear.

I’ve managed to avoid the denim rabbit hole up to now but it’s been close - all my mental effort is concentrating on my upcoming Thunderbay, the one jacket to end my quest.

End the quest?!! We both know about that. But yes a Thunder Bay is basically like the armor plate version of the Sherpa trucker. Like a Panzer vs a Prius. LOL. I’m looking forward to your TB probably as much as you are. They are rarely seen.

Thanks I’ll post pics when it gets here. I’ve wanted one for years but instead bought military sheepskins, when I should have just bought a Thunderbay in the first place. Hah, that is such a BS excuse, I still would have bought the military sheepskins.

The Taylor Stitch and Iron Heart jackets definitely look better and more comfortable on you, but there's something about that Iron Heart that makes it look like it was made and tailored specifically for you. I generally don't care for dark indigo with the high contrast lighter colored stitching, but if I found a jacket that looked that "right" on me...

Thanks, Zombie. The IH feels great and is like a comfortable cocoon. To be honest, the others also feel great, too, even if the Lee Japanese Rider is short. I have an Iron Heart Type II 18oz indigo/indigo coming tomorrow. I’ll soak it and then share a fit pic or two.

Here’s the IH Type II from their website:
