Hi, newcomer here. I've been researching and looking at fedoras for a solid few months now and pulled the trigger on this medium grey w/a black ribbon as it'll be neutral enough to pair with almost anything I put together. Some moth bites but not sever enough to warrant not wearing and everything else is fair enough as well. I was just wondering if anyone knew what decade it was from. Cheers folks

I just got my first Stetson. It is a nice Imperial Homburg Canadian made hat from the 1950s. Nice feel to the hand. I looked up the store and found a cool webpage devoted to its history.

The Imperial has always been a very nice, quality hat. Congrats on yours.

New to all of this. Haven't gotten to yet but I paid 30 bucks. What year would this be from?

I’m don’t know that the last Stetson made Stetson were any better than the Stevens made hats. Stetsons quality was in steep decline in its final years.

Any chance of seeing any tags/labels behind the sweatband?
Once I get it in the mail I'll post photos. And ah okay welp hopefully it's still a good example of a declining Stetson. Even then for 30 bucks it's a steal in my eyes.

Happy New Years!
I picked up this nice Canadian Stetson this weekend. I haven’t seen this specific “The excellent Stetson” liner before.
The hat has a very soft to crease crown and tends to want to go telescopic.

It has about a 5 1/2” open crown and just under 2” brim.

The hat’s dimensions are really well balanced with the thinner ribbon and danty brim binding. The cappuccino color against the brown is really attractive.

The label has the 1/8 scribbled out with pencil. Maybe a factory mistake?

Beautiful hat!

As Randy mentioned on another thread, the OPS label puts it in the 1951 - 1953 range. The paper factory label behind the sweat would indicate which edge of that range to lean towards. Red/white background would be early and the narrower all-white background would be later (probably 1953).

Not sure of the range of this particular liner.
