I would say it's 1970s at the oldest. A black sweatband is almost always 70s or newer.View attachment 558136 View attachment 558137 View attachment 558138 View attachment 558139 View attachment 558140 this is my first vintage fedora , anyone shed some light on the era ?
Hi, newcomer here. I've been researching and looking at fedoras for a solid few months now and pulled the trigger on this medium grey w/a black ribbon as it'll be neutral enough to pair with almost anything I put together. Some moth bites but not sever enough to warrant not wearing and everything else is fair enough as well. I was just wondering if anyone knew what decade it was from. Cheers folks

Thank you.Late 50’s-60’s
It's a real beauty!I just got my first Stetson. It is a nice Imperial Homburg Canadian made hat from the 1950s. Nice feel to the hand. I looked up the store and found a cool webpage devoted to its history.

Capital History: Premier Hat Shops, 1912 to 1970 – Apartment613
As the pluralized name suggests, they were indeed a chain, with a second location at 209 Bank Street, right on the northeast corner of Nepean Street. Premier Hats was founded in 1912 by the delightfully named Samuel Gluck, his first store opening on an opposite corner of Bank and Nepean.apt613.ca

New to all of this. Haven't gotten to yet but I paid 30 bucks. What year would this be from?
I'm Hoping it's mfg before the whole Stetson collapse haha. But thanks for the aprx date.Looks later 1960s or 1970s to me. We can’t often get specific on the age, but someone here more knowledgeable than me might be able to tell you something.

Once I get it in the mail I'll post photos. And ah okay welp hopefully it's still a good example of a declining Stetson. Even then for 30 bucks it's a steal in my eyes.I’m don’t know that the last Stetson made Stetson were any better than the Stevens made hats. Stetsons quality was in steep decline in its final years.
Any chance of seeing any tags/labels behind the sweatband?
