Yuck factor??????? Hmmm I guess that must rule out kissing.

RetroBabydoll said:Gentlemen......why do ex girlfriends offer food or drink to their ex's in front of the new girlfriend?
Paisley said:I thought it was pretty standard not to even talk about your ex on a date, let alone make introductions. [huh]

pennycarrol said:My ex-boyfriend told me one day "I would love to take you somewhere for lunch"! I told myself (in my small/silly head lol), that he intended to take me in a nice restaurant! For the occasion I had made my best to be all dolled up (way too much!!) and I put my best dress! As per usual, we met in front of the Fountain Place des Terreaux, and I told him "there is this Vietnamese restaurant that I would like to try "!!!! And there, he said: "I was thinking about going to McDonald's"! I was so deceived! I had made a joy of this lunch lol! So I ate my nuggets in front of a hungry man who swallowed his cheeseburger really fast lol! He also offered a necklace that he had found on the floor! I am happy that I left him! I do not say that women should be assisted, far from it, but a little chivalry do not harm lol!!

I had only been in LA for a few months, and didn't know any of his friends when he invited me to a birthday party for one of his high school friends. Being that I'm quite shy (he knew this, obviously), I expected him to hang with me throughout the night and introduce me to people, etc. That's what you're supposed to do, even if your date is outgoing! Instead he spent the WHOLE night, chatting it up with his ex, leaving me by my nervous self with a bunch of people I had never met before. I was LIVID when we got home.
Eventually I got over it, but still, it was so rude!

I won't go into the atrocious details of the completely ruined night, but I will give you two points to consider.
I called a young lady on her cell phone to ask if she'd like to go out Friday night (this is years ago btw). She agreed so I asked if I could pick her up. She gave me directions to the house she was "staying at" and I picked her up. When I got there, there were a few cars in the driveway and being the inquisitive individual that I tend to be, I asked, "So, your roommates having a party?" "No," she said, "My friend Bill was in from out of town and stayed with me last night, that white car is mine, and that other car is my ex boyfriend's." I asked, "So you room with your ex boyfriend?" "Yep."
So after a terrible date, I offered to take her home and she asked, "Could you take me to [different address]?" "Sure," I said, not wanting to be nosy. She killed my curiosity immediately with, "It's this guy's place; he said he'd get me drunk tonight."
Needless to say, I did not take this gal on another date, I didn't even return her calls for a while. She was, in fact, in bed with her exboyfriend, that other friend of hers and the guy that was getting her drunk, along with quite a few others. I got out of that situation fast.
And you might think this story more or less negates the idea of "Dating Etiquette" due to the nature of this young lady, but I must say, it was quite rude to throw out, ""It's this guy's place; he said he'd get me drunk tonight." At least PRETEND like you're not entirely promiscuous. [huh]
