Spencer, that is a very nice hat. Many of the hats that are seen on Ebay such as this hat were made via private label by any one of the dozens of hat companies that existed at the time . Places like Danbury CT and New York City had plenty of small manufacturers that would private label for stores. When we opened our store , we carried mostly brands using our own stores name. Many of them were made by companies long out of business.
I find that a lot of these house brand/ "custom made" hats are nicer than contemporary production hats, especially when it comes to the detailing. The brim meets the crown at more of a 90 degree angle (none of that weird in between slope), the ribbon is straighter, and everything just seems like someone took a bit more time with it.
