My wife bought another pair of Tony Lamas. When she told me they were new and unworn, I thought they would be late model. I was surprised to see the black label.

Another nice snag. Tall with a good heel and a great stitch pattern. I wish she wore a 7 1/2.

As some of you know I have a "thing" for bandanas and have collected a few hundred in the last few years.

When I saw these boots awhile back they "spoke" to me and I finally talked myself into them and pulled the trigger early this morning. I'll report back when they arrive.

I would have bet good money they were a pair of the old Champion Attitude. CA used to do their windows & collars exactly like shown. I may have even said so at that time.

DD! It looks like she might wear a size women's 8? Here's a listing for some nice TL roughouts. Seller doesn't show the label so don't know the age but these are sharp looking boots.

The irregular pattern and hexagonal shape to the scales gives them away to my eye. Definitely not gator belly. I belong to a Quicktopic forum on cowboy boots and one of the guys there sells a lot of boots. A couple of weeks ago the topic of turtle boots came up and here is something he posted:

"Just wanted to add my two cents on the whole turtle question. Intra-state selling is so not allowed. I sold a pair a few years ago on eBay, and ended up with a $3,000 fine from the Wildlife/DNR guys - a year after the sale. So please, be careful. Because turtle is endangered, selling it across state lines, or using online venues make it a federal thing. The boots I sold were from '72, but it made no difference. I was told I could trade them or gift them, but not sell them."

He had no idea if they went after the buyer.

Which is the reason I talked myself out of bidding.

It's also the reason that I will probably have a pair of anteater sitting on the shelf as part of my "collection".
