Actually, either a lightweight tropical wool or linen would be a better choice than cotton.

Seersucker- if you can find a 100% cotton one, is great. Paul Frederick menswear usually has some darker ones about this time of year- try their website www.paulfrederick.com.
Silk is a good choice, too. Just try to find a silk sortcoat without a polyester lining.
If you don't mind wrinkles, linen breathes well.
Just some suggestions....

Brooks Brothers has some as well. A few even had a skeleton rayon lining, but, as usual, none of those were in my size:eusa_doh: !

They currently have racks of linen suits in cream and white that is perfect for summer wear. Many of the outfits are made in Italy and seem to have a thinner cut than the American brands.

On a related note, I just purchased a sample sportcoat at Daffy's for around 70 dollars. It has functioning sleeve buttons for those who like the option.
