"Classic" summer suit

The weather in Michigan is finally warming and a quick check of my closet reminded me that I don't really have a summer weight suit (plenty of sport coats but no suit). I am therefore looking for some recommendations for a summer suit (other than seersucker) that will be versatile yet somewhat interesting. Suggestions?

Something in a light color, weight, or weave.
If seersucker is out, how about pincord? Linen is a classic summer material.

So a traditional poplin suit, ala Brooks Bros or Jos. Bank, would be reasonably "classic"?

Olive or tan poplin is a good look, and the suits don't cost a whole lot.

This one comes to mind... Modern "fashion" types seem to be pushing khaki suits at the moment. To my eye though, they simply don't have the character of a good wool or linen cloth. Even a seersucker would be preferable... Plus they just look uncomfortable.

My vote is for a good linen suit.

This is a suit Terrell Owens was wearing at one of the Kentucky Derby events last weekend. I am not a big fan of the man but gotta admit he has good taste and some serious style going on here. This suit reminds me of a Lawrence Fellows illustration from Apparel Arts or Esquire back in the day.
