On the Barbisio/Cellini history, I don't know, but as the manufacturing companies disappeared from the landscape in the later 20th century, some brands were purchased and their names were utilized by the surviving companies. I believe that Bencraft Hatters (Brooklyn) sold Cellini and would probably have better information. Ron - sounds like it's found a good home. It's not my cup of tea, but I'm glad people collect street fashion. Let us know if Bencraft can confirm the maker.
