If you have an HD-DVD player, 5.1 surround, and a good sized HDTV, you can always get the first season out now. :) It won't be quite the same, but it'll be close.

I'm waiting for the Blu-Ray/HD-DVD question to settle itself before I buy a player. I don't want to get stuck with the 21st century equivalent of a BetaMax.

Hmmm. Maybe I can convince the squad to buy one, since we've got the HD TV and surround sound already.

They are photos of the people that come here -- MK does not own them. He owns the Fedora Lounge logo and name. No pictures or trademarks of his have been used on my blog, much less anything from the Classic Style website.

Needless to say, I have asked the owners of the pictures and they do not seem to mind. :)

Neither MK, nor Key Publishing own or part-own any of my images. Copyright of all my images remains mine unless otherwise stated by me, in the form of a written waiver.

EDIT: In fact, it is also commonly understood that any comments made on most internet forums remain those of the member, and do not reflect the opinions or views of any company or individual that maintains that website. For a company to claim copyright over the good material, they would automatically render themselves responsible for the offensive material, which is a state that any company with any sense would usually hope to avoid.

I consider the copyright notification at the bottom of the page to refer to the layouts of Fedora Lounge, the title, the design and any images supplied by MK or Key Publishing. Anything I contribute is mine.

This is why Internet topic related law is so interesting right now.

The practical application of existing copyright and intellectual content law is "law in action".

The possible repercussions of decisions made vis-a-vis the internet back into more traditional media is fascinating to watch develop.

Yup. I think it is an automatic copyright that applies even if you don't say your thoughts, words, work, and etc are copyrighted to you. eBay auctions & photos are copyrighted too.

Jovan, I think the point being made is that before you start posting pictures that others posted here, you need to ask permission. I know quite a few people would be quite unhappy if you posted a picture of them on your site (that they took or posted) without their permission. It's great that you are asking permission. Hopefully they have given permission in return.

I understood that his comment of:

I have asked the owners of the pictures and they do not seem to mind.

covered the "asking permission" angle.

Even if he didn't ask, the simplest course would be to notify those pictured and have them tell him "no".

This is beating a horse that ain't even hurt yet.
