I found this in a second hand store yesterday. Admittedly, I had to pay a tad over the $100 limit for it so I guess that disqualifies it from this list. And unfortunately it's not even the right size for me- just a bit too tight. But it was still a bargain and I couldn't pass it up for the price. It's the first Buco I've ever found. Dang it- just wish it fit!

I'm new here, my first $100 find was two Brooks Detroit cafe racer jackets, a Lesco Detroit cafe racer, a Lesco and Schott vest and a Schott 115 for exactly $100 for everything.

Let's see them gents!

First time on this wonderful website, found you all by accident.
If memory serves, i paid about $25 or $30 for this one in the late 80s. I was told it was a
Spanish Civil War flight Jacket ? This was a belted coat
but it did not have the belt. Anyone have any info on this? thanks d

Someone here will know! But I thank you for forcing me to google the Spanish Civil War for the 100th time. Being a hopeful history major, that one always escapes my memory. What a crazy time period.

These photos are from a book titled Spanish Republican Aces. They seem to be mostly of French origin,single-breasted and belted. They look similar to French jackets called I think "Canadians" that show up on-line occasionally

Just found this Thedi Goatskin (I think it's goatskin) sport coat a few hours ago in a thrift-store. Fits too! A bit tight in the shoulders but the sleeves are plenty long. Very nicely made. Honestly, I really wasn't really looking for another leather jacket- especially in August. Not something I would have ever ordered but...how could I say no to a Thedi jacket...for $20!

Vanson A2 ~$70 used (but in new condition)

I really like that. I find A2s that are amde by "non-repro" companies and as "modern" jackets can sometimes be hit and miss, but Vanson have really captured th overall look here. Looks like a great fit on you, too. Hasthat slightly more relaxed fit of the 42 contract models, to my eye.

That's the second time LL jacket appeared for this sort of money here; the first time I called the seller and explained it to them that their jacket (Bronx) is worth a few hundred dollars.

It's an insane deal. I assume it's to do with Lewis just not being as well known down there - on eBay UK, you regularly see size 34-36 Lewis on sale, and even they go for serious money. (I've watched a few thinking I could pick em up cheap and live vicariously by cajoing my nephew into wearing it - he's coming ten in November - but no dice so far. Even that small they go for upwards of GBP100 usually; in human sizes, nearer 500 plus for something wearable).

Honestly, I'd wear that thing right now. Well, not now that it's hot out, but I love that coat.

I'd totally consider a grizzly but with carpet panels instead of mouton...

Bought this jacket at a thrift store for $25. It's real leather, and it's heavy. My only problem is that I have no idea about the jacket's origin. I've yet to find any information about an "Oxford" leather jacket online, there's just no information available. Does anyone here know anything about it? Quality, age, anything?

Can't offer anything more, but try adding "Harrington" into your search. I'd guess maybe eighties as I don't think I've ever seen a lether version of the classic G9 / Harrington style that goes back earlier, but it;s a start. Looks like nice hide.

One of SJC's new deco polos. Trousers are a pair of 42 issue Buzz Rickson's.

I misread that as a 42 size at first, which threw me.... 42 would be like clown trousers on your good self, of course!

Interesting..... same company? I'd not heard of the current thedi operation until very recent years. This coul have been an eariler product, though, clearly made psecifically for an English-speaking market. I love the artwork on the labelling - reminds me of 60s era Lewis advertising.

I know this is a bit off topic but can you recommend any good books in English about the Spanish Civil War? I'm not that bothered about particular clothing/uniforms but the conflict in general.
A couple of years back I visited Franco's Tomb at the Valle de los Caidos(Vally of the Fallen). lots of books but nothing in English.
Cheers, J

Sadly I'm not that well read. However, this place reeks of military history knowledge, so I'm sure you'll find something (in addition to Seb's recommendation). Cool you visited that site though.

Last words from me on this off topic topic. Anyone curious about the Valle de los Caidos, here's me visiting.
Due to it's Facist connections(look it up please) some say it should be torn down or at least disassociated with Franco's regime, but like the Zeppelin Platz Tribune, I only want to visit it because like climbing Everest, it is there and part of history. And no I did not visit on November 20th

And now back to the jackets.
This for well under the $100
