What a "chit" read so far , extremely sorry to hear.

Makes me glad a stock off the rack 44" Schott , Vanson, Eastman or Simmons Bilt fit me fine.

Perhaps I am either just lucky , or I am indeed "Joe Average".

Never will I be in the market for a bespoke jacket such as this , I would be filled with trepidation at that price point.

All the best with your pursuit mate.

I have been a Lost World's fan having purchased about 6 new jackets. Aside from terrible zipper issues my jackets have all been exceptional.
Monitor- your jacket is not exceptional or acceptable. You should receive a full refund. Quality on this build is lacking.
Based on your experience I would really hesitate to buy another.
I hope you do receive a full refund.

Monitor is not the first person to be swindled by Lost Worlds, but I can not remember such an outlandish example. I remember reading about bad experiences with Lost worlds and threads devoted to Lost Worlds bashing on the Vintage Jakct forum pre-2003 days. Anyone here who thinks the Fedora Longe will or can have any influence on the outcome of Monitors' issue is fooling themselves. Stuard does not hold jacket forum members in high regard. I do not think any other high-end jacket maker would ship a jacket like the one Lost World shipped Monitor and then respond like Stuard.
For example, I know some members here have issues with John Chapman, but he would not ship a jacket as sloppy stitched, and he will do a remake at no cost for fit issues. Aero may resist a remake for lesser issues but they ultimately will do a remake. I guess my point is I read posts here from members with that I see as trivial complaints with jackets they receive and the trivial complaints dilute a serious complaint like Monitors' present posting.

Perhaps if those members who have recent LW jackets rally to send an email of solidarity on @Monitors behalf, Stu might listen. He will only pay attention if he feels pressure from happy customers too. No doubt there is risk in being banned...

Most of these guys tolerate forums as marketing and sales tools, not much else.

Stuart effed this up, no doubt, but comparing him to JC does neither a good turn. Both seem to be pretty effed up to me at this point. For different reasons. Don’t get me started on Aero and their zips lol. Zips with a higher probability of failing. Not cool either. This one just bit me. Not as annoying as Monitor’s ordeal, I agree, but not trivial at all (not that you said it was).

And didn’t Stuart just totally redo Carlos’s jacket? I don’t understand what Stuart is doing to Monitor. It’s totally messed up.

At this rate, I’ll only be buying Vanson (sorry HH lol) and used-Cals in the near future. Maybe your Star Glove?!?

I stopped drinking the LW kool-aid a long time ago. I did consider a G-1 this past winter but am thankful I did not order one.

This thread is a nightmare. I feel empathy for Monitor and his piss-poor experience.

On a side note, I would have waited until this is sorted before posting a thread about it. You never know who reads these forums. Bitch about Aero here and you get a PM from one of the minions that works there. It has happened and is a joke. LW guy seems like he'll flip if he reads any of this, which may get you nowhere.

The silence from TFL forum members who always defend LW is deafening. Hopefully they are sending LW emails of solidarity with @Monitor and asking Stu to respond promptly and fairly.

Your comment is spot on & 100% true. I don't expect this thread to have any significant effect on anything and my intention isn't to damage LW's business. I wrote this up as a warning to what might happen. I believe US customers have nothing to fear. It's the overseas folk that are left at the mercy of LW's business practice.
What's also amusing is that only the returning customers seem to be given all sorts of return/refund benefits while first timers get treated this way.

All this aside, no need for anyone to talk to LW on my behalf. I don't want to have anything to do with this company or the people involved with it anymore. Short of receiving an email yesterday that I have been fully refunded with the return postage paid, I'm done. The whole thing made me feel bad enough and anything more would be just adding up to it.

I've been offered to have my jacket taken to NY by another member where he'd personally take it to LW, which is unbelievably nice of them but honestly - and perhaps a bit childishly - I don't want anything from that maker again.

I’ve had this question for a long time, Aero, Buzz, Eastman, Roleclub, etc, are very very busy, oh and Lewis, because 1) there are more individual consumers who buy and don’t return their jackets than pissed customers who hate them or want to return, and 2) there are many stockiest around the world who place volume orders to keep them busy, but with LW, I don’t know of any stockiest? I don’t see any movie production that hire them? And there is about 50/50 of individual customers who love and hate them. So, it is a mystery they stay in business.
LW does or did have stockists at least in Japan and Taiwan.

wow, I wonder how big is a $2000 made to order jacket market segment really is... seems pretty niche, and there are new players lately, how a maker can afford to lose even a single client is unthinkable, and to create a cloud of doubt to the whole potential niche market as a result of one sour project is beyond unthinkable.

I'm hoping things get sorted for you Monitor.. but don't settle for this, I'd recommend staying on top of this with continued emails asking for a jacket remake in the right size at minimum and without obvious flaws if possible.
It is gonna cost you some money to get it right tho, but I think that's inevitable, but will be worth it...In for a penny, In for a pound!

I tend to stick to my first impression. Never liked the way they did their marketing, their attitude nor what I read from other experiences with the less than friendly communications.

They might make a good jacket when they do it right as some jackets in the forum prove it but this is unacceptable under any circumstance.

I’ve never tried on a LW but they look pretty great for motorcycle riding so they were on my list. After reading your account I would NEVER order one. Atrocious customer service, attitude, and quality control. Thanks for the warning - sorry you had to put up with that s*** (And their website looks like it was made in 1995)
