I've found that the smartest guys in the room are generally the ones who talk the least. They are too busy listening to talk. Those are words to live by. 99% of my life's regrets are from saying something.

Does the reverse apply? Would it be appropriate to say, "Look, enough with the proper diction and good manners, you're not upper class white."?
Hmm...shouldn't proper diction and good manners be the default, regardless of class, race or creed?
:arated: This is essential to survive as a cohesive society.
This is probably a good reason why so many people hate/shy away from/avoid others. It isn't difficult to be pleasant.
Haven't you heard it's cool to be rude?
For too many people treating others courteously is considered a sign of "deference." And when you defer to others, you're considered "weak." The line separating civilization from savagery grows thinner by the year.
Yeah, so I'm a rebel.
"Don't mistake my kindness for weakness."
Back on topic, adults being rude to adults is not desirable, but teaching children that it's to be celebrated and rewarded is what I am against.

Oops! That's what I meant. I was talking about children, not adults... although I would guess it's that way with some.
I'm unpacking and checking threads so I wasn't thorough sorry.
