Greetings,
Mike up in the Great White North here, and I'm a long-time lurker, first-time poster. I thought I would break the ice by giving a little backstory and showcasing my brand-new (and so far, only) lid, discovered and fallen in love with while shopping for a new suit.
For as long as I can remember, I'd always wanted to own a fedora. Probably the biggest reason was my grandfather sporting one of his, and he was/is a huge role model for me. He was as fine an example of the word "gentleman" as they came, and the hat kind of symbolizes that for me. That, and a fedora's got bags and bags of style.
I could go on and on introducing myself, but I fear I'd never get to showing off my new "baby". Here goes:
It's a Robert Hall, 2" brim, not-sure-how-tall crown (For that, do I measure the height of an open crown?) in a kind of blue-ish grey fur felt with navy ribbon, centre dent with front pinches. I'm considering rebashing it because I think the dent is a mite deep right now; it brushes the top of my head and pops out a little near the back. Is this usual with a centre dent? Should I even be concerned?
Anyhow, enough with the questions, and on to the pictures:
From the side:
And the front:
On my head (with the lounge on my screen in the background):
I appreciate any input, and for now bid you all good day.
-Mike
