Great grandparents
I see where you get your high crowns from Perry! Looks like there was enough headroom in the car to keep his hat on.
Great grandparents
He looks to be a tall fellow too. Trying to do a little geneaology, my g-grandmother's family has been easy to trace, g-granddad, not so much.I see where you get your high crowns from Perry! Looks like there was enough headroom in the car to keep his hat on.
I ran into some of my extended family last yr at the "Bourbon, Beer & Bacon Fest". I was glad to see Uncle Bud wearing a hat instead of his usual Redman Chew truckers cap.

Did you make contact with any of them?My mother was my father's third wife (I only knew about two prior to his death, though it apparently wasn't a secret - I was just oblivious ). His first, when he was in WWII, was in the Seattle area. I had business out there several years ago and looked my (not common) family name up in the phone book. There were many more than I thought there would be. My reaction was, "Dad! You were busier than I thought!"

Here's an interesting story of a friend of mine. I'll leave out some identifiers but she was an only child & her parents were older when she was born. As an adult she knew the FBI would have files on each of her parents so after they passed she filed FOIA's. Imagine her surprise when she learned from FBI files her mother had lost a baby two yrs before my friend was born! She couldn't believe her mom never told her, even after she was a grown woman. And she was surprised the FBI would know such personal information apparently thru their surveillance.
These pictures of the huge redwoods are great. To see these early loggers dealing with such huge trees. I have a bunch of these vintage images on my hard drive if you would like me to send you some.
That's so funny that you'd say that, Bob. Not a deer, but on our way to church one day my Dad put his shotgun in the back of the car before we left the house... I was like, whaaaaaaaaaaat???????? Sure enough, about 1/2 mile down the road he pulled off, walked to the back of the car, appeared with the shotgun and tagged a couple pheasant.... which we then took back to the house and were late to church, LOL. Ah, memories of murdered animals kil't for Sunday dinner....or shot the buck on the way to church?
