If you look at Hpaladog's new 20s Simmons Cossack on the Aeromarine/Simmons thread, it's got pockets just like MM's, so it'd fit with the vintage design.

My word! I hadn't seen that one when I was doing the mods to the Aeromarine. So with a bit of synchronicity, and alot of input from fellow FLers, it turned out quite well... I especially like Edward's suggestion of the buttons & loops on the pockets:D;)

The LVC one looks just a tad longer in the body than the Aero, and has strange button spacing at the neck.

If it makes it into production: I'd ask for a design credit: The Double M, perhaps? :D

Of all of them, I think that's the winner. Very impressed by your photoshop skills, BTW, MM; mine don't extend beyond rendering something B&W or sepia from a colour image!

I'd like to see this design rendered in wool too.... may be with leather trim around points of wear (collar, cuffs, bottom edge, pocket openings.....). Really hoping that's an end of the range Aero continue to expand. Partly I just really like it, partly it's a bit more affordable than full leather these days! ;)

That is really nice. Is it vintage or a Japanese repro?
Edward,

US made in San Francisco by Golden Bear in a collaboration with Unionmade. They have only a few more in this color; unfortunately, not my size. Are around $400. Buzz Rickson made a pattern pretty similar to this, but I think I prefer this one. I contacted both Unionmade and Golden Bear about more stock, but I'm afraid this was a one time run. Maybe with all the chatter on these boards re shawl collar jackets, they'll re-up :)

Given the earlier discussion, interesting to see the pocket placement, though not sure if I could carry off the satsuma version...

Aha! Yes, it's interesting to see what at least to me seems an upsurge in the attractiveness of wool jackets...

As to the "Double M" design, I have this question. It appears the moon shaped pockets are meant to mimic the other aged jacket - correct? I'm probably wrong, but aren't those pockets in the old one curved due to age and use? Inter Alia, they started out straight, and ended up not so. Just wondered if you were trying to replicate the look from said age/use or whether y'all think that was the original shape? Either way. It's pretty decent. But better I think for a shorter torso (the jacket, not just pockets)

Hi Butte.
The curved pockets were suggested by someone on here, as were the buttons & loops (by Edward). I merely did the Photoshopping to get them on there. I didn't have any jacket I was trying to emulate. I hadn't seen the LVC at that point.
The curve of the pockets was suggested to be in keeping with the curve of the collar.:D

Cool! Guess it makes sense. If anyone actually wears it enough they will curve in time. Somehow I don't see anyone here wearing out a jacket lol
