Aero Premier Highwayman midnight blue CXL

This jacket will soon be back in active service - and is very highly anticipated indeed!
It is in it's return trip from repairs at Johnson Leathers, due to the original zipper's failure. You can read about this here:

Which zip did you go with? I seriously am contemplating sending my Chips jacket to swap out the main zip. A preemptive strike. The little talon scares me every time I want to zip it up. Getting past the extra thick hem scares me. My issue is matching the navy blue stitching.

Worried about this a little too when my chips comes. Will probably jus roll with it and if it fails to JL it goes

So we have here a #10 Talon in a FQHH Premier fit HWM. I mean no ill to the idea of staying period correct, however in this case the function has to work over the form. I have a Bootlegger in FQHH that has been working perfectly well with it's #5 Talon. However I also own a '30 HB in rather heavy Steer-hide that the #5 Talon simply failed and was not restore-able.

I am grateful this one is back in the business again, looking forward to breaking it in! :)

Splendid job. Alan is the only one I would ever trust for this kind of work. A++

Looks like JL done their work well, congrats!
Randy, really nice jacket, but how much comfortable these narrow sleeves and nigh armholes feel? Looks quite tight on the photos, esp. from the back.

^^ it's not a jacket to Layer with, but it was not bought to layer either. Kind of like driving a Mazda Miata, or a Cafe Racer Motorcycle, both of which are vechiles you "wear" for certain, specific driving conditions only. Not for use in snow, extremely cold temps, etc.

Thanks all for the feedback. I have it on here this evening with a mid-weight hooded sweatshirt under it, all zipped up, sleeves and all. Did not even have to suck in my breath to get it zipped. It IS stiff, still far from broken in. I really love this jacket, and if anyone is thinking along these lines, I say go for it. Just know ahead of time, these Premier fit HWM are much closer to a Sheene, so think Cafe Racer, but a bit longer of Torso, when sizing up for one.

My Size 42 4-pocket Steerhide Cafe Racer was much more snug of fit than this one is, It is with Kosay now, back near where this photo, my only "fit" photo with it, was taken. This was my first day wearing an Aero jacket, my second time to Seattle, and I had still never heard of the Fedora Lounge or a "fit photo." :)

Took a couple of "quick & dirty" fit photos indoors with the sweatshirt on, just for reference. Here's my goofy mug wearing the PMHWM this evening...

Fits you great. A jacket that is any larger when stiff, will be way too large once the leather relaxes. My Bootlegger, when new, fit so snug I could barely zip it up. After a few months of wear it has relaxed and I'm actually second guessing myself whether it is too large. If there is anything I have learned from that as well as more recent Vanson purchases, always go for as snug as possible on a new jacket for it to still be a good fit once it is broken in.

I recently had a Midnight Blue CXL CR fit jacket sent to me for a Sheene I am having made (having the Sheene made in cordovan CXL steerhide) Having never considered a blue jacket I was surprised how much I liked the color after trying it on. It really is very nice, almost black but just enough blue to catch your eye and make you want to look closer. I didn’t wear it outside but I am sure in sunlight it really pops! Great choice! The first pic is my fit pic the second pic is for color comparison hanging next to two black Vicenza jackets and a brown fqhh HWM that I own.

Was this fit jacket thru Thurston Bros.? Or direct from Aero?
