So this Premier fit Highwayman is breaking in quite thoroughly for me. I am seriously loving every aspect of this jacket now that the zipper is swapped, and the FQHH on this jacket is slightly thicker than other FQHH Aero's I've owned or handled. Still well under 7.0 lbs, so very wearable on a daily basis.

Would be very interesting to know how certain batches of the "same" leather just tend to break in much faster than others. The FQHH Cordovan Bootlegger I have been working on all fall is not as broken in as this PMHWM and I've worn the Highwayman less than 50% as much. Enough talk...here's the photos:

The blue "X" in painter's tape is so the camera has a target to focus upon until I get there. I use a tripod & small DSLR with a self timer. I find it works at least OK inside.

Back to breaking this one in a little more.
I can definitely tell in the pics here vs. before that's it's loosening up as it breaks in. In a good way!

I am writing soliciting thread advice on Midnight Blue CXL as I am working on finalizing an order.

I am currently considering Black, Light Tan, Dark Navy.

Thanks for your thoughts.

I would add olive drab to your list. I think that would look stellar paired with the midnight blue CXL.

So the jacket this thread was created around has Olive Drill stitching. I really like it. It's not normally a combination I would have though would "mesh" however this OD seems to work with nearly any color leather, Cordovan, Brown, Black & even Navy.

Dang man there’s a good amount of brown peeking through that midnight. Jesus H I wish I had selected a pattern that actually looked good on me when I bought this damn thing.

My two cents; I love contrast stitching, but I also love how the navy blue stitching hides Aeros large needle diameter holes. It blends with the leather and doesn’t draw my eyes away. After the midnight blue leather fades I’m not sure how the OD with match with the brown & blue together?

Midnight blue premiere 30's half belt I got from sweetfights is currently my favorite leather, what an unreal color, and perfect weight and pliable.

Jrolfe - My apoligies for mising this post. I really like this dark blue in the CR pattern as well. Looks really good on you, goes well with the jeans you are wearing, and I hope you are enjoying it as it breaks in. I did note there is a Size 42 CR in Navy FQHH still on Thurston's stock page. My Black Steer CR has the same "ball & chain" nickle zips on all 4 pockets.

100 percent agree. Glad I went navy blue for just this reason. Admittedly, it played no part in my initial decision, but it worked out for me.

Wow!! I am once again left speechless by Aero’s ability to totally surpass all my expectations and nail a jacket so incredibly down to the ground perfect. As much as I hate to bore the forum with another blue jacket thread I think this one bears reading for a larger or more athletic built guy looking to go with a premier pattern.

I was a bit scared on this order b/c it’s a totally unfamiliar pattern and I chose to order direct. Denny, as usual was great to work with. Originally I was going to drop the waist to a 42” but he cautioned me against that and we settled with a lesser 1” drop. Great call as a full drop would’ve been too much.

I’m 5’11 210lbs (little fat post vacation) and spec’d a size 44”, 1” waist drop, 26.5” back, 26.75” sleeve. Nickel hardware, OD liner and stitch. Board racer sleeves, hookless (scary!) zip and slight chest pocket angle increase. While the premier pattern is certainly more trim it doesn’t strike me as overly so. The jacket still allows a nice range of motion, without gussets or a full AB. The collar is love. It’s hands down my favorite part. I love the back yoke too. I know it’s supposed to be a 30’s jacket but in this blue and config’d this way...I’m the baddest undercover weed cop in this town.

Here are some jacket pics. I won’t post my usual garbage fit pics. I’m giving this puppy a full blown photo shoot with props. It deserves it. It’s 107 in Chicago today and set to stay that way for a couple days. So fit pics will have to wait. I will say it’s the best fitting jacket, Aero or otherwise, I’ve ever owned. Bottom line is you don’t need to be rail thin or narrow shouldered for the premier pattern. Thanks to Denny and a special thanks to Julie Leitch, who never ceases to amaze me with her unbelievable mastery of this craft. She is the first Jedi. No doubt about it!
