Holly said they can still do it. But the website lost a lot of its "multicultural value" when they took it off. :/

That all seems pretty much identical to when I first came across Aero in early 2012, so things didn't move as fast as they do now with the old guard back in charge.

And of course the whole soap opera had yet to start... I'm sure Sloan will keep us informed of the outcome next week, to give us all closure.

And we might even finally get that fire sale we've been waiting for.

Looking at the Radjacke there, I'm looking forward to seeing the original pattern being restored - two rows of buttons and based on the slimmer premier pattern - and in a more suitable, softer leather. Also, just in general, look at the amount of choice you have now!
Got to say, the pics on the sale page are pretty ropy. Also, this particular aberration appeared on it: http://web.archive.org/web/20101119175038/http://aeroleatherclothing.com/product-detail.php?id=257

As far as the legal stuff goes, the trial has been pushed forward to late January - defence want to consider other evidence.

For goodness' sake. I'm sure the Nuremberg trials didn't take this long to prepare. And what about the civil one?

I know, but there are proper procedures to follow. If they're not, then there would grounds for an appeal, which would just drag things out further. I don't know what the current status of the civil case is other than it will, in theory, follow on the back of the criminal one.

I like that VDR copy ... in fact the Sam Walkers were really nice jackets and were often made of much more pliable leathers than Aero ( which was a good thing IMHO) ... I have had a few VDR copies, Stockman types and a couple of their Highwayman copies and all have been fine and stood the test of time really well. They weren't half bad as jackets go - easilly on a par with most re. construction - and their fit ( esp. on the VDR copy) was much neater that Aero and much more true to fit ( a 42" fit like a 42" and not a 46" )

I'm not surprised they appeared on the sale pages as back in the day you could trade most jackets - Eastmans, Sam Walkers, Lost Worlds etc. ( although Aero was the preferred trade in ) - I bought an Eastman B-6 back in 2004/5 from the sale pagesd ISTR ( might have been earlier).

It always reminded me of Kens "Thrift Store" philosophy from the 80's ... in fact I bought a few jackets from him on ebay including a Peacoat and a Gloverall Duffle Coat and he had lots of great gear for sale.

Jeans and Jackets were what attracted me to Aero in the first place ( that and the fact my sister lives in Langholm) ... it was like "Metro" ... the place for US military surplus, used 501's and Americana in the early 80's .... which became "Flip" and it wasn't an improvement .... only better :)

The new offerings are great if you want 1920-40's jackets and really hit the FL clientelle "wants" on the button. However, they also retain most of the old guard from the 80's, 90's and 00's which is also great.

The offerings now ... Alexanders, BK, Johnsons, Goodwear, Pegasus, Vanson and many others .... supplement the lagacy repro manufacturers Eastman, Lost Worlds, Aero etc. and also the heritage genuine manufacturers Schott, Lewis etc. really well

We are spoiled for choice ladies and gentlemen and that's a GREAT thing IMHO :)

If my memory serves me correctly, Rocketeer bought a Sam Walker jacket on line and described it as having a 'rubberised' finish, which doesn't sound too attractive. That said, I seem to recall people saying that SW's jackets started off well made but then went in to a steep decline, ending in legal acrimony. [huh]

The Jacket industry in general ( but more particularly the leather jacket industry ) has a rather poor history of legal acrimony IMHO ..... some of it of a particularly petty and nonsensical variety ..... some of it quite nasty and vitreolic :(

Stay out of the affairs of jacket makers .... they're all as bad as one another IMHO .... ALL they are interested in IS YOUR MONEY (once the consumer understands this it's a much easier place to exist in) ! They're in the business of selling leather jackets for a profit after all !

Buyer of all, loyal to none ... that's me :) ( and it's based on my experience of dealing with most of them 1st hand .. though not all ! )

Just MHO .... while recognising that many on here have very strong loyalties to one or more manufacturer.

^ Very true. Well, I'm sure GW and DD and few others really do enjoy what they do and would be making jackets whether they'd sell or not, but as far as all the other guys go, yeah.

I find it near impossible to not idolize your favorite makers. To me they're the equivalent of movie stars. Can't help but be drawn to the people behind the jackets.

I don't think you're being entirely honest.

I don't know what I was trying to get at with that post. Definitely exaggerated....but I do take interest in the company as a whole. I always enjoy learning about a company's history or reading an interview. It's the same when I pick up a good album. I want to learn more about the band.

I recall reading that Aero used to make Sam Waller jackets for a specific shop in London - perhaps also called Sam walker - but after some time the shop started making their own highwayman/SW jackets without Aero, and of course of lesser quality. I think Aero took legal action to stop them.

Here's what Holly said here a couple of years ago: "Aero NEVER put Sam Walker labels in the jackets we sold to them. Any jacket bearing a Sam Walker label was NOT made by Aero, this is 100% fact."

Haha, figured you were being sarcastic. But yeah, part of the allure of the makers we prefer here is the company lore. Nobody cares what's the story behind, dunno, leather jacket from Zara.

Whenever one of those Sam Walker jackets appears on eBay, the listing always states that the it has been made by Aero.
